Anyone have a favorite MF that they are using on their own cars?

The Polyfiber2 towels that DF Concours sells are very nice and cost about $3 each (www.dftowel.com). Some of their towels are 'approved' by Zaino...not sure what that means...I have the Polyfiber2 towels and have been very happy with them.

Pakshak towels are sweet. That's all that i have in my arsenal and some junk towels for grunt work, polishing exhaust, door jams etc . . . . .

Believe it or not, I've used the Costco/Sam's/BJ's MFs on white/silver cars over the years without marring. The trick is to wash them a few times before using them, and don't put lots of unnecessary downward pressure on them while removing the product.

But you're right, I do not use them on my NBP Acura CL-S. They definitely leave their "mark" on dark paint!

Heh heh, one might argue that "clearcoat is clearcoat" and that if something's not OK for use on black then it's not OK for use on silver/white either ;)

For QDing, polish and wax removal nothing but Cobra Deluxe Jr 600's touch my paint. For drying its the Cobra Ultimate Guzzler WW's only.

True.....to an extent. It's not so much that bulk MF's are NOT ok to use on black, it's just that certain blacks are pretty unforgiving (the NBP from Acura comes to mind).

I have a Harvest Gold Metallic Taurus that I've owned for 8 years as a third car, and it ONLY saw warehouse MF's and a steady stream of Poorboy's S&W. It has never been garaged, but the paint -- even under fluorescents -- is extremely clean with the slightest of micro-marring, even after 159,000 miles!

Yeah, except he's in Canada, and so is that store he linked...I'd bet that if CG would ship it to him, it would cost him more in shipping and duties than buying it at his place. Maybe not...but shipping stuff to Canada is just crazy, it's like it's a whole different country...

Yeah, I just ordered 6 towels from CG, and got hit with $6 in shipping! Good thing I had a coupon code to take some $ off the order!

Exactly, MF's are usually made in China or Korea which automatically have a 20% duty charge in Canada, add exchange, shipping and brokerage charges and the costs soar. Depending on the items and size of the order you can expect up to 33% added to your order with the exchange rate being close to par. The microfibers linked are from CG and being a CG dealer have authorization to use information from the CG site.

Note: The regular price is the same in both Countries, unfortunatley it is very difficult to compete against a manufacture that put their own products on sale.

As for the MF's the http://www.chemicalguys.com/SASQUATCH_MAXIMUS_HAIR_RAISING_MAXIMUM_STASH_MICRO_p/mic_1901_1.htm and http://www.chemicalguys.com/MONSTER_MICROFIBER_JUMBO_ABSORBER_p/mic_1100_01.htm are the best MF's that I have used. The Monster is great for QD's and the Sasquatch for removing polish, wax, sealants.

I haven't been a huge fan of CG towels, they have been linting and falling apart on me. I am a pretty big fan of detailedimage's microfiber offerings, particularly the "re-Thickulous" towel, but its currently out of stock :(

with all this talk about thick microfibers, you should check out the monster fluffy as they've been around for quite some time before everyone else started to carrying them. very nice and high quality as well...
