Anyone Get Panels from Junkyard to Practice?

I've been an autopian for about 7 months now. i haven't tried to repair scratches, or fill chips, or even remove oxidataion, the more detailed repairs....do you guys think it would be worthwhile to go to the junk yard, find a panel in bad condition, and practice on it? That way when the time comes I'll have more experience. anyone do this?

ask at a body shop, when i worked at a bodyshop we had to pay to have all the scrap taken away, so im sure theyd be glad to let you have some damged stuff

When I first started I got two hoods from my local body shop.

I have two fenders and even brought them along with me when I moved.

I used to practice on my old washer and dry before I bought new ones.... :LOLOL

I use my brothers car. Its junky enough.

I sometimes rent cars if I'm going on a long trip for business and if I get back early enough and have time to kill I sometimes try out new swirl removal techniques...
