Anyone familiar with these automatic hidden front license plates...?

Never even heard of it and why would it be necessary?

Some guys use them in shows - so the "look" of the car isn't disturbed by the license plate bracket/license plate, etc...

Some guys who live in states that have a mandatory front license plate - don't like the look of the license plate and think it takes away from the look of their car - and only display the license plate when driving...

Etc...

Mine is a little less fancy. It is just drilled in underneath the bumper. Once removed, you cannot see the holes unless you are on the ground and looking for them.

I have looked at those and at parkway speeds I am afraid vibration against the paint would damage paint. Also if you bottom out going up a steep driveway the system and your plate get scraped.

Other Han that they are great. I decided to run the plate in a tow bar mounted plate holder.

There was one guy who actually installed it IN part of the front bumper - and it looks really good - not just hanging below like all of the ones I am finding...

Are any of them "sturdy" enough?

A friend of mine had one of these. It worked great for awhile, but the weather really didn't agree with it. I think he had to replace the wiring 3 or 4 times. His car was a daily driver, so maybe it would be ok for a show car.
