Anyone ever tried Oxi-clean on mf/towels?

Search seems to be down still, so...

I've seen oxi-clean on tv-shopping and have found a local store that sells it. Has anyone on here tried it? If so:

1) Does it actually work as well as they show on TV. Seems to good to be true.

2) Is it safe to use on MF. I have some slight discolouration on some of my MF that normal washing won't remove, and thought i'd try it.

Thanks

I asked the same question last week and alot members here recommend to use Oxiclean so I bought one from supermarket:)

I haven't tried it yet but Pakshak claimed that he has experienced MF becomes somewhat stiffer or harder. So I kinda worry now.

I have used Oxi-Clean on my towels and found it cleaned them fine. Nothing works as good as plain Dawn dishwashing liquid, though, and it is cheaper.

If any of my MFs need some extra punch to get them clean, I use Spray 'N Wash. I like it because you target just the areas that need the extra cleaning, not the whole load of laundry.

Always be concern that when using any powder substance in the wash that any undissloved powder could present a potential sources of surface marring if embedded/ crusted in/on your MF's.

I would rather have a stained MF than a marred finish. :nixweiss

HellrotCi's suggestion of the Spray-N-Wash seems to be the best solution if MF staining is bothering you.:xyxthumbs

I use the Clorox version. I put it in first and mix it well with my hand before putting the towels and laundry detergent in, so I haven't had a problem with any residue.

Actually, just yesturday I gave my MF towel load a shot of the Shout version of Oxi-Clean (1 scoop per load) and they came out suprisingly well! I was pretty happy with the outcome!

just curious as to those ppl that you DAWN to clean mf towels, how much do u add to the washer?
Not much would be my guess; mucho suds. In the past, I've soaked towels in Dawn as a "pre-wash", rinsed them in the bucket to get the bulk of the Dawn out, then washed as normal. I'm reluctant to put a squirt directly into the washer for fear of reliving an old Brady Bunch episode and filling the laundry room full of foam.
