Anyone else getting slow, due to high fuel cost/economy?

All is well in Indianapolis. June was our best $ month in our six years, and that is after a 15% price increase in April.

Jake, nice to hear things are good in the Flint area...

Yea I actually increased my prices as well. (not anywhere near some of guys yet but..) and it hasn't detered anyone really. I think my main selling point is I'm still the only detailer in the area that has a website. I've revamped it. and I tell everyone that wants to listen about it. (looking to do it again here soon) added a lot of new skills to the mix I've been picking up and a solid reputation. Word of mouth is always the best form of advertisment. Talking to service managers of the types of cars you want to detail has helped alot to. I've gotten quite a few from the cadillac dealership when they get picky customers in that don't want their wash boys messing up their $50,000+ cars.

Where do you guys get most of your people from? Word of mouth, or advertisment

For me, the majority is word of mouth. I would say:

70% word of mouth

20% going out looking for guys at cruise ins, car shows, etc...

10% from places like Craigslist and other random online advertising
