Anyone Else Do This?

When I detail an engine I leave the car running and after I finish hitting with water I leave it running a little longer just to make sure no water is blocked up no where.

I was taught that way 6 years ago and it works everytime.

After wards I do on with the rest of the car and before polishing/waxing I dress the engine.

I do engines FIRST, no matter what. I do not run the car befre hand. Never had a problem. I do however, run it for a few minutes with the hood ope to get some excess water out. All the water usually dries up before I get done with the interior. Then I dress the engine, close the hood, and do the exterior.

I run the engine afterwards and sometimes i'll drive a few blocks.I'll be doing it again in a couple weeks and the using the no rub polish from bigron..

i have ran the engine after the final spraydown, but not while spraying. if the alt is visible, i try to keep it covered with a bag of some sort for saftey reasons. never had a prob personally with excess water on the alt, but would also liek to keep that way too, lol :)
