I've read where a lot have people have loved using Zaino on their cars, especially light colored cars. I have been using Klasse w/ a P21S topper and have been happy with it, but think it can still look better. Very close to getting Zaino and trying it on my car but wanted to find out if its worth it or if anyone found it not to be as great as other people have made it out to be.

I had mixed results with it. I don't know whether it was the weather here in central PA, or the paint composition on the Miata, or what, but I could never get it to go on without some smearing. Then again, I have a non-metalic black clearcoat, which shows everything!

I switched to using the Klasse twins, and have had good results. I have topped them off with Souveran which adds the deep wet look. I really think it comes down to a matter of personal preference.

I think that it is a toss up.

I think it depends alot on the color and the quality of the paint job. Colors like silver and white really seem to benefit from the high reflectivity of Zaino. I guess colors like beige gold, platinum, silver blue, light metallic green, you know, they'd respond well to Zaino as well. All those colors refract light greatly, dispersing it. So Zaino tends to reflect the light back into the eyes of the view, creating the visual impression that the car is shinier than it really is.

Darker colors I think benefit more from the richness and depth of carnauba. Black especially is this way. Adding reflectivity to black takes away its depth (they are polar opposites in the visual spectrum). The main visual benefit of black is depth. If you're gonna use a product that adds reflectivity, why have a black car at all? That's my view, anyway.

But in the long run it only matters what you like. Since you are already using one of the most elite combos out there I honestly don't think you'll notice a massive change. But it might be subtle enough for you to make a switch worth your while. Only one way to find out, right?;)

Unhappy and Zaino in the same sentence is blasphemy you know! ;) j/k

Seriously, the only time I'm unhappy with Zaino..........is when I run out!! :D

The only thing I dislike about Zaino is that the shine never decreases. Even after washing with Z7. Zaino is sometimes boring because of the lack of constant maintainance requirements. The car can sit in the garage for a week or two and a quick Cali wipe and I'm on my way. Nevertheless, after 30 years of using carnuaba products by habit I still QD with Z6 in order that I do not feel I am neglecting her. Go figure. :nixweiss

Hehe, I know what you're saying. Even after rain the car seems just fine. I had been running through some muddy puddles lately so when I did clean it this past weekend it looked great! So maybe he you just need to throw some mud and water on the car and drive it around for a day or two like that. When you wash it you'll love it.

I used to be unhappy with Zaino. Up until last week even. After getting it right (I tried a few "shortcuts" that didn't work), it easily is the best wax for my two silver german babies.

In the past, I used to be a strong proponent on this forum of the Klasse/Blitz combination for darker cars in particular. But there were some drawbacks. The Klasse and Blitz seemed to magnify any swirls that there were. They did not take care of the "microswirls" you can see in cars that arises from general detailing.

Zaino seems to manage that best with its Z5 polish. Plus it's easier to use.. in the long run.

So I now am a Zaino convert I guess.

I couldn't agree more. I use Souveran on my Black 911 after trying Zaino, and the Souveran kicks its butt when it comes to shine. I use Zaino on my White F150, which is my daily driver.

I haven't used Z-5 YET...... But Silver does look good Z'd. Here's My RSX after 5 coats of Z-2 and multiple Z-6.

I'm in a similar situation as you... I used to use Z on my black car but I'm happier with P21S on it. But on my silver car, I'm still sticking with Zaino.

BTW, I hate the dbacks! :) It's been a rough series for the Dodgers.. hope they can bounce back tonight, b/c it's not going to get much easier... they've got SF, SD & St. Louis coming up after this series...

Sounds fair enough, though I've never had a light colored car. On my Black SC430, I tried Zaino and wasn't very happy. No depth to speak of whatsoever. Switching to Pinnacle made a huge difference and then to Blitz was an incremental improvement. I'm sticking with Blitz.

Also, I found Z5 to be near worthless on swirls, One Grand Omega Glaze has been far superior.

Anyone with any experience with zaino on a black metalic car? I have "Black Magic" paint from VW that is very metalic, I would think zaino would look great and was going to give it a try, but now I am hesitant. Thanks.

I have a steel gray car--which is fairly dark. I like Zaino on it. Personal preference I guess. I was looking more for durability though. I don't want to have to wax every month.

Depends on the car and paint. I tried Zaino on my black Elantra and it smeared and didn't look good. I then proceeded to try it on my blue Jeep and the results were phenominal. Solution: Jeep is Zainoed and the Elantra gets glazed followed Meguiars #26. You have to play around and see what works best. I tried many things, and now I finally have a system for each.

Zaino seems to work well for me in every application I try....

just some better than others. I love it on both of my vehicles.
