Anybody know anything about mid 90's Jaguar Paint?

If "it's" cracking, that is due to alot more possible issues than one may first consider, paintxpert.

May due to numerous issues, from the primer base, it's allowed cure time, was it applied over an "e-coat" that was allowed for the water solvent to release, to the prep of the metal at the factory, to the materials used at the plant, to the film build applied at the assembly plant, to what someone used as a solvent to remove various "surface contaminates/etc", to the "enviorment" that the vehicle has been exposed to, the age of the vehicle and which materials were used at the build time, what was that plant, for that brand, was doing as far as tempature and bake cycle during that vehicles production run, was a panel or the entire vehicle subject to "refinishing", it goes on and on.

Just not a simple thing to address, and very difficult for most to get "close" to what caused the "cracking" of the finish, the "die back" of a finish, the "delamination" of the surface, etc, etc.

I could share more than a "few" experiences of what I posted above regarding this concern.

Will I do so? Not really, as with most things that go "bump in the night",the engineers, line supervisor's, catch them and since it is a large number of vehicles that come out of every assembly plant, what was, may not be now.
