Anybody here buy Zymol Vintage Estate Glaze

Try the sampler kit, around $180 for the top 3.



I was thinking about getting it, but I'll stick with my Souveran, so much easier to use.



I think Bill North used the vintage??

I cannot believe it costs that much to produce. I bet their sell MARGINS are like 1000% on that product. The freaking box and container cost more than the wax.

You know how we all feel about Zymol and the way they market their products.



You do get free refills for life though. This stuff probably has like zero durability, but say you have about 2-3 show cars, and you go through about 5 refills of the stuff per year. In 20 years time you spent about 11 bucks per refill. If you get 4 applications per refill, that is only 3 bucks or so per application! Of course it takes you 20 years to get the dollar value down to that though....



Enough with numbers. Carnuba blends are the usually the most inexpensive products to make. The materials costs are DIRT CHEAP. On the higher priced ones, you might be paying for the manufacturing process, but either way, markups are high........it's teh nature of the business.

Don't expect any positive comments about wax from the Zaino zealots. All they talk is Zaino and that's it, there is no more for them.

However for us the Concours show detailers, Vintage is one of the best Glazes you can buy, a must if you want that awesome wet & deep look that only a quality white Carnauba can provide. use it as a topper with Klasse and be amazed. It's only $160 for all 3 top-of-the-line waxes. Each sample will last you a whole year.

Souveran is comparable to Zymol Concours(a mid-range wax).

Read the CMA Blackfire advertisement and you will understand why they are trying to simulate the Carnauba look.

Isn't white carnauba or ivory carnauba just the bleached yellow stuff, or it says here...

It is a real shame that you lump people like this, but an even worse shame that you failed to read all the posts before making blanket statements like this. Several of the people who posted in this thread before you do not even use Zaino products, yet you label them "Zaino Zealots" because they do not care for Zymol's products. I dont think anyone will argue that you can get great results from Zymol (or just about any decent wax), but it seems most people here have a real problem with the way Zymol markets and prices its products.

That being said, it might be wise to emphasize the qualities of the product in question rather than opening by bashing others here (klasse, zymol, pinnacle, zymol, etc.) that have a different opinion than yourself. :down
 
Tis a shame when things are going well and someone comes back on the board after a prolonged vacation and has to start stirring things up...



Anyhow, I tell it like it is about carnubas.....but for

your information.....I did order a souveran kit off of ebay, and look forward to trying it out.



When you rank your waxes as BEST, what is your benchmark and how are you judging them....on shine alone? Most of us here are after much more than shine.......
 
Zymol products are very overated. They are way overpriced. They are a PITA to use, and the durability is truly sad. They try to be the Rolls-Royce of waxes, but once you get them you find out that the quality and durability is nothing more than a Yugo.
 
That must be the most expensive cleaning agent ever made. Just remember to achieve a extremely high gloss finish use a good wax, prefarably one which is specific for your car (i.e i use a pigmented dye wax, then use a extremly powerful high speed polisher.



Wax counts for a small part, and is nothing without such tools. But most importantly persistance is the key for achieving the best detailed car.

I wish I was a CONCOURS show detailer like Eurosport. *sigh*

Mebbe I should run out and grab a bottle of Z Vintage. That oughta be a step in the right direction.
 
$1100 tell me they are joking! Regarding the highest percentage of carnauba than any other brand. That's really no big deal is it? FWIU higher percentages of carnauba aren't used because of cost but because of usability.



One question about the refills for life. Is there some kind of a limit? What would prevent someone from getting a refill every week?
 
I would love to try it out, but it's a tad pricey for me :)



lets see, in one corner we have wax and the other you can just have the hood repainted :D does it cure cancer at least?



I heard it was rather difficult to work with, looks like i'll never get to find out.
 
While it's been quite a few years since I've gone for the gold at a regional FCA or FOCA event, I can tell you that virtually everyone is using a carnauba-based product on their cars at the big time concours events. Pebble Beach, Meadowbrook, Rockefeller Center, Amelia Island, Barrett-Jackson, you name it.



Why does Vintage exist in the first place if no one is gonna buy it? Well, perhaps it's because the Zymol folks don't expect to sell any. Develop and market a product so outrageous that no sensible person would buy it. There is a method to the madness, believe it or not.



Vintage exists to win big-time concours events. The biggest of the big need a product that will put a car over the top and into the winners circle. My guess is that Vintage users aren't buying the product at all. They get it for free. Zymol "wins" by being assoicated with the winners.



Another example: Why does Atlantique exist? Simple. Ralph Lauren restored a Bugatti Type 57 and needed a product to help him win Best of Show at the 1990 Pebble Beach. Zymol developed a product exclusively for him and he won. So they offer it up to the public.



Products like this aren't designed to last a long time; a few hours is fine. They aren't designed to be easy to apply. They are designed to make your car a winner.



Don't dis Zymol because it doesn't meet up to your personal standards. This stuff operates in a completely different world than most of us do.
