Anybody have a SLR camera for sale??

Looking to buy a Canon or Nikon SLR camera. I have a Rebel Xti that just gave up on me with a error99 code, so I need to find a new camera. Ill do another Canon if the price is right, but I think I may be switching over to Nikon since this is the second Canon product to fail on me inside their first year of use.

I just ordered some parts for my camera from a guy on Ebay. You might be able to fix it for cheap if the rest of the camera is in good shape. I can send you his email address if you want it.

Have you considered shipping it back to Canon for repair? They have a great facility here in California that can fix just about any issue.

As far as Canon vs. Nikon is concerned my opinion in the under $2,000 price category is stick with Canon. Canon, even in your Rebel, uses a CMOS censor that you don't get in a Nikon until you get up to the $1,800 model. If you do decide on a Canon you might consider upgrading to the 50D. It has a metal body (vs the plastic Rebel) and has much higher quality lens standard. I bought a 50D for my daughter this summer and it is an incredible piece of equipment.

BTW if you want a 35mm SLR let me know I have two of them with several lenses sitting on a shelf in the garage.

Rydawg maybe have a D90 coming up for sale shortly, I think he is looking at a D300 or D5000, something like that...

I'm a Nikon guy myself and couldn't be happier with my D40X
:D

The D90 is a great camera. The D300 is a step up. The D3000 and D5000 replace the D40 and D60.

Gotcha, thanks :D

I thought about grabbing a D90 a couple of times, but for what I do, the D40x is perfect. For 640x480 or 800x600 pix pics I cannot tell much of a difference (if any). I do need to get some better lenses though, as the stock 18-55mm is good (by my lack of experience) but I have been told that stepping up the lenses will make a huge difference.

I REALLY want the D90, but like you mentioned, its really not worth it for me to spend that kind of money to do what I do with it. Id also feel pretty bad about getting a new D90 all dirty! ;)
