Any1 using Menzerna and a PC?

any tips on using Menzerna Intensive Polish and Final Polish? I used the yellow pad at 4 1/2 with the Intensive and white pad on 3 1/2. I did the up and down and side to side motion. While it took off most of the swirls, I can still make out some of them. They look really light and I would think they would be buffed out, but its still there. Should I bump up the speed? Apply it twice on heavily swirled areas? I'm still new to machine polishing and don't want to mess up the paint.

By "yellow pad" I assume it's the Lake Country cutting pad? If so then this is where your marring is coming from.

Once you buff the product out you no longer have any lubrication so the coarse pad is then left to mar the paint, even if ever so lightly.

First, I never use a PC and second I never use a yellow pad BUT I do use a rotary and Cyclo. I almost always use a polishing pad and leveling product FIRST before I use a cutting pad with my leveler.

This follows the detailers golden rule of "least abrasive method first". After awhile you'll be able to look at a paint surface and know right away just what will work and what won't work. So if oyu have some slight marring left over from the yellow pad and IP then try a polishing pad with the IP. You may need to crank up the PC speed and work slower. You won't burn the paint so don't worry about that.

When the finish is to your standards then use a finishing pad and FP and again go slow, keep the speed around 4 or 5. If the FP gets sticky then add a little more FP and go over that area again, wiping the product off before it dries.

Hope that helps,

Anthony

yeah I'm using lake country pads

I tried the IP with the white polish pad before the yellow, but it didn't really do much. thats why i'm using the yellow pad now. I'll try to crank up the speed and work slower and see what happens.

Personally, I wouldn't use IP with a PC.

I use a Makita 9227C with white pad at about 1200 rpms and get fantastic results. FP would be fine with a PC

Good luck!

I USED PC7424 WITH MENZERNA IP & FP ON THIS HUMMER WITH GREAT RESULTS I USED CMA'S ORANGE PAD HERE'S SOME PICS

I have found the EO W&S is a great "extender" when using FP, either with a rotary, a cyclo or a PC. Because the Menzerna triplets were designed for rotaries in the first place, when I use it with a PC, I start about 4-5 and as it nears "flash" crank it up to 6. The EO comes into play when working in high heat or sunlight - when I fell the pad starting to grab I use anywhere form 1/2 to a full spritz of the EO, the work the area again unit it "flashes" a second time.

Hello...

I'm purchasing a PC 7336, with IP, FPII, and SPC as the polishes. After SPC, Zaino will be applied. The pads I'll be purchasing (in order to try different brands) are Sonus Green and Sonus Blue (one of each) and LC Orange Power and LC White Polishing (one of each). Which products should I use with each pad?

Should you work IP until dry and almost gone, or stop when it's still a little wet and then buff with MF towel? Same for FPII?

Thanks. This forum is a big help:bow

Isn't the yellow pad a little harsh? Of course, I would use a yellow with heavy swirls, but moderate, you're run of the mill bad dealer swirls would be orange power pad, correct?

So would it look like this:

Menzerna Intensive Polish: LC Pads: Yellow (heavy) Orange (moderate)

Menzerna Final Polish II: LC Pad: White (polish) Sonus: (green)

Sonus Paintwork Cleanser: Sonus: Blue (light polish/cleanse)

Zaino, Klasse, Carnaube to follow.

Does this look okay?

Thanks

Carl
