Any suggestions for a spray on wax.

With respect to spray waxes, has anyone tried 4* "4-90 Spray Wax Plus" from their Pro Series?

I like OCW, but use it solely on door jambs. It really keeps the area clean.

I feel that it (4*) is more of a QD than a wax, although I haven't tried to track its longevity, so maybe it lasts a long time. Very easy on/off. Nice look. Helps boost "wetness." Nice "tropical" scent. Orange in color. Very nice qd. :2thumbs:

Anthony, thanks for "SPAMMING";) the other board with this stuff and bringing it to the forefront so that we could ALL enjoy another easy to use product that provides excellent results.

Quite welcome my good man! :grinno: :xyxthumbs

I recently tried Optimum spray wax and I'm pretty impressed as well. I use it fairly regularly, almost like a quick-detailer. In fact, I just did my car this morning, took about 10 minutes. I don't know about the durability, because it is so easy to apply, that I've been doing it fairly frequently.

The only downside: I bought a gallon of the stuff from TOL, and the spray bottle I use is horrible (I think I bought it from Home Depot a long time ago in a pack of 3 or 4). Any good recommendations on spray bottles?

IF you truly want OTC, try Mothers FX. Very nice look, decent protection.

I second that, Fx is great and otc. Also Turtle Wax Platinum Spray Detailer seems to also be more then a quick detailer, it also has a lot of wax in it.

I'm surprised nobody has reccomeded Eagle One Wax as U Dry. I think it's a good product. While I haven't tested the durability by itself it sure does help boost protection on top of other waxes. I knew OCW would come up in here somewhere though since a lot of people use it and say great things about it.

I just wanted to post a follow-up.

I bought a bottle of Optimum Car Wax as several of you suggested. I really like it. Lots of shine and really easy to use. I've used it on every car in the family and a couple that aren't. I've already gone through the 17 oz bottle, so I plan to order a gallon tomorrow.

Thanks again for the suggestions.

Can you use OCW on windows and plastic lenses too?

Yes you sure can but only on exterior glass and not on interior as if it fogs up in the interior it will bead up which would not be good for driving :scared:

No waxes should be used on interior glass period.

When using OCW on glass use it sparingly. What I do is first clean the glass as there are no cleaners in OCW and then I usually lightly mist OCW on a MF towel and then apply it to the glass. My method of using OCW, on paint or glass, is to rub it in until it is pretty much gone and then turn the towel to buff it out. OCW works well on plastics also and will not leave anything behind in terms of wax residue.

For OTC product, Eagle One's WAUD would get my vote.

But if you don't mind ordering it from the net, I would strongly, strongly

recommend Optimum Spray Wax. Incredible stuff - very easy to use, great shine,

slickness. I did my SUV in 5 minutes.

(Eagle One wash, blow dry, Optimum spray wax - 40 minutes top).

I will try Z8 next week.

PS: I have tried NXT booster wax "wet-style", "dry-style", "spray-on-MF-style"

and imho Optimum still beat it hands down.

That's what he got.

I thought you would like it Steve. Go on and get your gallon and find a sprayer that sprays really fine. It takes very little product to cover a car and the bottle you bought should have lasted through many more cars than it did. When you cut back on how much you're using you will find it even easier to use.

Thanks for the suggestion SpoiledMan. I did get good coverage for 8 layers on 5 different cars. But I did notice that if I got a fine spray, it worked better. Guess I'll check the spray bottles we have around the house and see if I can get one that sprays a fine mist.

It doesn't get any finer than this!
