Any Steamer reviews or recommendations?

I picked up a bottle of WINDEX Foaming No Drip cleaner a few days ago based upon a recent comparo in Consumers' Distort. I paid around $3 for it from the grocery store. I used it on the car and thought it did a great job. In fact, it looked so good, kinda like Stoner's IG, that I kept going back to the car and finally convinced myself that it must be my imagination ;)



I spent several hours cleaning glass in the house (windows, doors, chandelier, etc.) this past weekend and it turns out that this product kicks some serious you-know-what and it does leave the glass super glossy. Lack of streaking is another benefit. In fact, it probably cleans better/faster and looks nicer than anything else I have tried recently. It's a nice $3 surprise. It's that good!

I use Windex as well. I am actually surprised to see the number of people using expensive glass cleaner. But then again I don't have a $80K car or work in auto detailing. But I am perfectly content with using good old Windex on my cars and home.
 
I've been using Rain-x's Glass Cleaner with paper towels and then newspaper. I think the news paper left some very fine scratches on the glass but it does get it clean....
 
For the exterior, try using paint cleaner, like the Meguiar's stuff once in a while. It's a pain to use but once you've buffed it super clean, you can use pretty much anything after that and it'll work better (Even Evil Scum, I mean Eagle One). It also seems to make the windows have more shine for some reason. Yes I know glass isn't porous but it's still susceptible to funk buildup that car washing misses.



Not practical for inside though, and don't use it on tint. I still haven't found anything I really like for the inside (I smoke). I might try 50/50 mix of alcohol and distilled water. Price is right!



Also, someone mentioned Werstatt Jett. I use that on my paint but haven't tried it on glass. Great idea, probably helps keep it cleaner too.

Very surprised to see there are only 2 of us.I beleive the reason so many people hate doing windows is because of the Alcohol content in Window Cleaners. Alcohol=Streeks

You will constantly be battling streeks using Window Cleaner
 
Me: "Hey Honey, check THIS out...denatured alcohol and distilled water mixed three-to-one...works really well on this glass!"

My fiancee: "Yeah, that sure is thrilling..."
