Any products, other than clay, to get over-spray off...?

I had overspray on a junk yard sourced fender (they sprayed the faded hood) I had to wet sand with 1500 to get it off. I guess it depends on how much overspray and how brave you are. 2004 Grand Cherokee so it its not perfect I didn`t mind.
 
Do a test spot with a polish and move up to a compound if necessary.

If your car is well waxed/sealed clay might be all that is needed.

Well, I did put on one coat of Meguiar`s #7 Show Car Glaze and two coats of Meguiar`s #26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax the day before I dropped it off.

So here is hoping...

Edit ---- If this is a vehicle that was Just Painted, then you have to wait a little while before you should be doing Anything to the finish... It needs to dry and cure completely, and it dries from the Bottom, Up..

When I was Painting, I would put down a few layers of Primer, dry it with heat lamps or the sun, then wet sand with a block and guide coat, then start the paint layers, and later, if it was not already mixed in, the clear layers.. Even with lights, etc., on it, it still does not dry completely from the bottom layer to the top..

Can you smell paint if you put your nose close to it?? If so, please think about not doing anything to it until it is not only dry but Cured...

Forget everything I wrote below after this paragraph, it applies only to completely Dry and Cured paintwork...



Not knowing how much or how thick or thin it is, how about trying a little mineral spirits on a spot with a q-tip and see if it takes it off??

Yes, it can be compounded off if you know how to do that, and have a machine with the appropriate pads and compound, but then that may change the gloss and clarity of it, and you may need to then polish it with a different pad and polish product..

If you picked the vehicle up from a Shop, dealer, etc., and they gave you the overspray with the vehicle, I would think about taking it back to them and having them remove it for you..

What ever product you apply to the overspray( Meguiars Nbr-7, etc..) that is not intended to remove it, will also be removed when something is used to remove the overspray..

Without doing any damage. Assuming the overspray itself didn`t do anything irreparable. Shops have to replace, or at least refinish, vehicles over [screw]-ups like this, hope it`s not that bad in this case.
 
If it’s 12 days old and hasn’t sat in the sun it may come off with some sort of solvent.

Back when I was young and dumb and clay wasn’t available to most I had the same thing happen to me. I went to a crappy shop and got a bumper repainted and the aholes got overspray everywhere.

I tried all sorts of stuff, some cleaner waxed worked ok but in the end window cleaner was the winner. It probably broke down whatever sealant the clear was stuck to.

I have a feeling you are asking because you took it to a similar shop....
