Any opinions on the Griots Boar's Hair Wash Brush

I was shopping at Autozone, pepboys, target, and Costco today.

I was mainly looking for the Wheel brushes, foam app pads, and mitts.

I thought the Viking Wool Mitt ($4.99 at autozone) was pretty good but also Sheepskin mitt at Costco ($7.79 for 3 set) was very soft and good deal. I think I'm going back Costco and grab the Sheepskin mitts. Sorry I didn't write down the brand name.

For the brushes, I think OXO makes the quality ones, very soft..but $17 compared to other $4 brushes...however I would pay $17 for my car :)

I couldn't find any good foam applicator pads. any recommendation?

I got Costco Sheepskin mitt so posting the pics..Taxlady, is this what you have?

I cannot say much about them since it's first time I use Sheepskin mitt but when I did CD test, they made light scratches..I hope those scratches will not be any problems since you'll use the mitt with lublicant (Z7 for me). anyone has problem using them?

I realized one thing ..the fur became very curly after I used it once for my car wash.

Is this normal for the sheepskin mitts? How to take care of those mitts?

JB in Irvine, I'm sorry this is kinda off topic :bow

The two mitts look the same. I'm sure you figured this out, but don't use the bug remover side of that thumbless mitt on your paint. I didn't get that polishing pad, I got a second mitt with a thumb.

Yes, it is normal for the fur to get curly when you use the mitt. The leather of the mitt also gets a bit stiff, but becomes soft again when wet. I just rinse the mitt very carefully and hang it to dry. If it gets dirty enough that you think washing it would be a good idea, use car shampoo or people shampoo (no conditioner) to wash it by hand.

Have a look inside the mitt. You will see that it is untanned leather. If your bug remover mitt is like mine, the bug remover side is fake lambswool. This will give you a good idea of the difference in appearnace between the real and the fake stuff.

Try doing the CD test with a wet mitt, using no more pressure than you would use to wash the car. I will try this too.

Wal*Mart has Meguiar's foam applicators, 2 for $1.67.

AutoZone has Viking foam applicators with a built-in foam handle for around $2.
