any of you guys have t shirts made for your business if so do you think they make a big difference in getting exposure. thats pobably a stupid question but oh well :(

Im sure its provides tons of exposure, but not a heck of a lot in the way of sales. An occasional inquiry while at the market or somewhere. The biggest thing i get out of it, is a more proffessional look while detailing at clients' houses. I have another 30 on order as we speak. If you happen to provide/sell products, it has an additional impact.......

cool thats the answer i was looking for. im wanting to promote the business when im at car shows seeing i may do some cars at an up coming event and i figure if someone sees me cleaning a vehicle and a shirt on its kinda obvious. i think i may get a couple of inquiries.

Actually I get more exposure if I don't wear a tee shirt .. but on the other hand I'd get busted too @ @ .. ( cheap pun ) .. hahaha.. bunch of prudes up here in CanaDUH..

I have golf shirts, t. shirts, sweatshirts & visors(embroidered). I'm a pro and like to look like one, especially in front of new customers. I always wear my logo'd shirts at cruise in's, car shows and any auto function where prospective customers may be. I also always have business cards in my pocket. Visibility is everything in our business. It works ;)

I have jackets, t-shirts, polo's, sleeve less, tanks. I give a lot out and wear a lot.

I do get phone calls from people telling me they have seen my shirt.

The cool thing about the shirts is when you go out somewhere, and you see someone you have no idea who it is and they are wearing your shirt. You almost want to go up and ask them where they got the shirt.

It does make a difference to have a 'uniform'. It conveys professionalism, commitment, and sets you apart from those who don't have embroidered polos, or even T's. They need to mesh with your overall image (vehichle graphics, business cards, flyers, etc.)-there needs to be consistency. And although it might be boring, you're better off sticking with one color shirt all the time. Again, it conveys consistency. Many companies let their employees express their individualism with different colrs/styles, but it destroys the corporate image (even if they are all embroidered the same). If 'Joe Detailer' shoewed up at my door every time in a navy embroidered polo & a pair of khakis, my impression of him (and his business) would be a lot different that if it was a random combination of clothes each time.

Does it get you more sales? Yes, because your image matters tremendously in a personal service business. It may not show up as 'I chose you because you have embroidered shirts', but it does make a difference.

BTW-selling corporate clothing is how I make my money to buy my detailing supplies, and have for 11 years. :) Off to sell more shirts!

I think wearing a shirt is all the difference when getting new clients. It makes you look so much more like a pro. Here is my tshirt, which runs me about 8 dollars a shirt to make. I have polos with just the logo and name printed on the front chest in the corner.

Going on a yr now with mine, same price as NY, 6.00 a shirt, plus $30.00 per color for setup.....I have a new batch coming, I'll save the pic for when i get those.....!

I change the shirts up every 3 months as well. sometimes i get them in black w/ gold lettering or blue with gold lettering. I try to stay with the dark colered shirts as it does not show the dirt so fast. Picture wearing a white t-shirt while detailing, you would not lool very professional once it get dirty.

The only problem i have with dark colored shirts is that the compound or any other white polish gets all over it.
