Though I didn't take the time to read all of these posts...I wanted to say that I basically bought the same unit from The Detail Supply Outlet. It is basically a water reclamation system, carpet extractor, and vacuum all in one unit. But I immediately traded the heating unit and extrator portion of the setup in for a standard Mytee extractor and am much happier - it was to much of a PITA...hoses everywhere and you had to run the pressure washer unit just to get the water to go through to the hot water extractor. It's nice not having to run all that noize when you have access to a power outlet.
Regarding a steamer, I spent $1,200 on a steamer/vacuum unit and it was the worst investment I have yet made - my Mytee carpet extractor kicks its a** for carpet work.
