Mostly make the spring & fall race at Dover, but had to miss it because we went to Phoenix in the spring. Dover is one of the nicest tracks on the schedule.
Big time NASCAR fan here... some of you already know that .
I've been going to the race here at NHIS for a few years now but been a fan for a long time. This summer I went down to NC where all of the garages are and went and visited a few of the race shops. We also went to RCR and Childress' museam which had about 30 of Dale Earnhardt cars in there. Actually the museam is Dale's old shop- preserved to how it was when he was there. It was amazing and breath taking.
Dover is on my list of a race to catch in the future. My father is in the works of getting tickets for the fall race at Bristol next year :yay...
I have a r ea l close friend here in Alaska that is a fanatic about all racing not just Nascar. Over the years I have watched a lot of races on TV with my fi=riend giving a tips as the race progresses. Lots of technical information and strategy that I did not know anything about.
I deem myself a fan of Nascar but my man Tony is out of the hunt so it makes it a l ittle less interesting ....If you know what I mean.....
John do you think that a six year old would enjoy a Nascar race? Am not sure of the dates but I do know that Texas Motor Speed way has a race coming in the fall. Have considered taking my son to the race. Maybe he is a little to young at six. But it sure would be fun for the old man.
I guess if you look at my username you can figure out I am a nascar fan and who my favorite driver is. I've only made it to one race in vegas a few years ago. Kenseth won. I was going to put a bet on him winning, but we were running late to the track. He won. It was fun (other then the annoying guy that was sitting next to me during the winston race). I haven't watched as much as I would have liked this year. Hopefully some day I'll make it to another race. Not sure if I like the idea of toyota coming soon though. Its bad enough cars don't look anything like the factory cars they are representing anymore.
Threy are running at kansas today and tommorrow. Was down there to an ARCA race in 2004. Stood behind pit wall on the road they move equipment to and from pit road. Its a different place to watch a race when standing behind the race teams. I think it was nearly amile walk from the van to that area and we got there early to park. Racing not the sameas before Dale sr oasted. Was nooot a fan fan of his. But racing changed all over after that happened, even at the local tracks. RANDAL
Kirk- The Texas race is 11/05/06- Dickies 500. If you can't get tickets on Sunday, you can do what MGM did and go on Friday or Saturday, either way you get to see the action. With a 6 year old I would actually suggest going Friday or Saturday. Not only is there more stuff going on, but there are breaks between practices for walking around, shopping, potty breaks, etc. and you won't miss the race. I raised my cousin into NASCAR and he's been going to practices and qualifying since he was 4-5 and loved it

My son is 6 years old and was absolutely thrilled to death. The Busch races are usually over in an hour and a half. Many tracks have general admission tickets for the Busch series, which means that you can move around throughout the race (if you want). This helps keep things fresh for the little guy too.
He might be a little young to sit through a 4 hour NASCAR Nextel Cup Race, and you will pay significantly more for a ticket.
Although this has been a slow construction year the last month has been a real boon for me so it looks as if I may be able to make that race on the fifth of November. Only time will tell. Mite be fun to go up and spend a day at the races. If not for the boy then it surely would be fun for me.
