Hi,

I just got my '90 miata and wanted to clean the rear plastic back window. I heard of Plexus and Meguiar, can any one recommend which is better.

Another question is my soft top is starting to peel away and separate from the fabrics inside. I pulled it back and there was some brittle glue like substance. I wanted to know what is the best product to re-glue fabric to fabric. I believe the frabric is either cloth or vinly.

I live in San Francisco and the only auto part store around is Kragen which does not carry any good car care product. It would be helpful to provide a list of place that carries these products.

Thanks in advance. I love this site as I used it before on my previuos cars and it has been very helpful.

My oldest daughter has a 95 Miata convertible. I recently used the Mequiars plastic products on her rear window. I used both of them, don't remeber the numbers but one is a polish and one is a cleaner. Thye did a good job of removing some minor scratches and removing most of the haze from it. I gave her a can of Plexus to maintain it with. I also used Raggtop cleaner and protectant on the fabric top which is working great, water beads on it again. Her's has no interior problems such as the separation your describing.

Have you tried searching on this subject? 4DSC is the King of Ingeniuous And Productive Searches, but I just did a quick, amateur search on "convertible" and found 197 threads. If you refined by "convertible + damage" or "convertible + clean," you might be able better to hone in on your particular issues.

DavidB's article is excellent: http://www.autopia.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8610&highlight=convertible
