Any Ideas for New Lights?

I want to get some brighter headlights for my truck. I was curious what you guys would recommend. Im looking for a pair for under 100 dollars if that is possible. thanks. mine just arnt lighting at night. I have adjusted them countless times. Nothing new
 
If all you want to do is change bulbs and not do an HID upgrade (way more than $11) ...get the Slyvania Silverstars. Are nice and bright and are a very white light
 
yes...i've also heard good things about SilverStars. but never get those wannabe HID kits or bulbs. that cheesy blue tint is horrible.



and i'm not saying you would, just that if it ever crossed your mind.
 
I just got a set of the Silverstars for my F150. After some research I decided to go with them. They cost about $40.00 for a set at Autozone. There is a $10 rebate going on now through April.
 
I just got a set of phillips vision plus from autobulb.com. AS soon as I install them, I willl take some before and after pictures. These are supposed to be as good as if not better than sylvania silverstars....
 
You might also consider the Sylvania XtraVisions. They are as bright as the SilverStars (according to Sylvania's website) but cheaper. They have a nice white output, but I'd guess not the same color as the SS's (though I've never seen the SS's).



I put some XtraVisions on my wife's car and they made a great improvement over the Wagner's in there (they claimed to be super bright, but they sucked). They also had a better beam pattern than the Wagners did. Sylvania seems to make a quality bulb.
 
Ditto on the Sylvania Xtravisions. I just replaced the stock halogens on my '97 Maxima and the Xtravisions are much whiter. They cost $10 per bulb at Pep Boys. Here's another tip I read from another forum: make sure the contacts for the headlamp grounding wires are clean and free of corrosion. Corrosive buildup can impact the amount of current to the lamps.
 
I could'nt be happier with my PIAA Super-Whites. Not a hint of blue (3800k), and a 1 year warranty. To may knowledge, they are the only bulbs that come with a warranty.

The light is magnificent; clear, unobtrusive to other drivers, much more light output thena stock, while at stock wattage (55W=80W output).

They're fantastic. Costly, but I beleive you get what you pay for. I have also heard good things about the Sylvania bulbs.

I just dropped a set of SilverStars in the Maxima's High Beams and there is a marked improvement versus the stock halogens.
 
I love my Silverstars ! Only problem is now my parking lights and turn signals look very dim and yellow.



Is there a safe (dont want to melt any wires) replacement bulb for bulb size 168/194 ? The stock bulbs I want to replace are a lame 5 watts !

You can get whiter 168 bulbs at any speed shop or online (autodynamic.com). For the turn signals I just disabled the always on part so that it turns on only when it's blinking for a turn. Just use electrical tape on one of the connections of the bulb (test to find out) and you're set.

The silverstars are definitely not the cheap blue thing. I think the "cool blue" silverstars are, though.
