Any downsides to washing using bare hands?

Hey guys, as an experiment I picked up some suddy water and rubbed the car down using my bare hands. It seemed to work fine, and it helps so far as figuring out where to clay. Curious, however, if there are any down sides?
 
The dirt has nowhere to go :nixweiss Plus I'd imagine you'd be more likely to miss spots since your hand isn't exactly providing uniform coverage.
 
Your hand has no nap. The dirt has nowhere to go but on the surface of your fingers rubbing against the paint.

I wouldn't wash with your bare hands. I just don't see the reasoning if there are plenty of mitts that do an excellent job.
 
interesting...all of the younger neighbor kids starting screaming when they saw me dunking cookie monster in the wash bucket and dragging him around on my car's paint. hahahaha!
