Any American Idol Fans??

Sheila@detailcity

My husband is always right!
We have been watching, as a family. It's great! Who's your favorite guy and girl performer?

By the way, Troy really doesn't want to admit he's a fan, but he DVR's it!:D

I've been watching just like Troy on the DVR....fast forward is my friend!:D

David Archuleta is one talented singer...It will be interesting when they start to do musical themes that fall out side his current comfort zone...Simon pointed that out this week.

I really haven't made up my mind on the ladies but Kady Malloy looks promising.

I think once they diversify the musical styles and start to sing out side the comfort level you will see the real winners come forward...so far I think that this season is better than last years:D

:wow: Sheila->:bonk:<- Troy

Grrr. I didn't want you guys to know I watch it, much less DVR it.

I get into very few shows now a days but I must admit I look forward to seeing what Simon has to say and see if I agree with him.

My favorite is David Hernandez btw.

My favorite female got voted off last week so I don't have one anymore.

I like watching in the begining when the real bad singers are on and they are just terrible...

But the judges, minus Simon, who I like his refreshing honesty...

I mean you have Randy Jackson, who I have no idea what he does...and talks in the third person and uses the word Dawg every other second...

And Paula is on crack or something...and she is evalutaing talent? Has anyone ever heard her songs...?

Cheers Shelia!:D

Jackson was a back up musician for some of the greats in R&B, soul and jazz...he is a talented bass player...he is now working in the studios helping with mixing music...I agree the persona of the dawg thing is getting old

Paula....( I'd hit it:D) just released a CD its not anything that I would buy but she has more talent in choreography that anything IMO..her big hits where all in the 80's...she dose look high sometime

Yeah, I watch it. No recording, and yes I sometimes miss an episode. I guess I'm not quite as up on it as I thought I might be, because without a roster I can't tell you the participants. I do recognize the names mentioned. The Irish girl (with the unsightly arm tatoo) has a real nice voice, as does the girl that sung last.

Dave Archuleta is an acquaintance of mine actually. He is every bit as nice as he seems on the show. He already understands that if he makes it big after this then I still expect to enjoy his talent for free no matter how much his CDs will cost.

That's pretty cool is he from your area?

I do think that he has the talent to win...and even if he doesn't the exposure that he has so far will get him something very lucrative....reading about the winners they are under contract and that's kind of holds them back some of the runner ups have gone on to do even better..Chris D was one

Yup. He is from Murray, Utah which is just right down the street from me. I lived in Murray when I first moved to Utah from Dallas several years ago, so this area is sort of where I'm most comfortable. I don't dare venture into the unknown areas where the streets don't follow the handy dandy grid system that we follow in the valley so well. lol

I work with people who grew up with him as well and they all say is a great guy too. I'm sure he'll have a lot of opportunity after this no matter what the outcome is.

I think there is much talent amongst the guys. I really like David A and Michael. But my favorites are David C and the rocker chick, Amanda. I don't really care for heavy rock music, but I love their styles. :bigups

My impression is that there are a lot of talented singers out there in the world (better than some established ones). It is all about promotion, luck, and showmanship (what Simon harps on) that makes a difference. To shine, you have to be noticeably different. You could be a better Madonna but they have done that and want something new.

Two shockers for me tonight.

#1 I'm shocked they sang Shout to the Lord (but thought it was great).

#2 Michael Johns got voted off.:wow: He was definitely a favorite in our family.

I used to be a big fan of the show, however I am convinced that Randy and Paula are idiots and that Simon makes the show, and the Fact that Ryan Seacrest is the host makes me vomit...if I hear Seacrest out one more time I may strangle him:D

I saw this last night, and I have to say the look on that guy's face was great. It made it worth it to me since I had family over and it had to be on the television. Then, when they threw him out the false hope of "last year, we didn't kick anyone off, but this year you're going home" I literally laughed out loud.

A night in one of Paula Abdul's fantasy bedroom suites - $20.
The cost of one of Simon's V-Neck Sweaters - $35.
The look of an over-confident idol contestant going home - priceless!
