Any advice for a newbie Klasse user?

Yup. This all helps a lot. You've all convinced me, and I will clay the car first.

One last question: I'm going to use the SG in the morning (before the sun gets high), will it be OK for me to put the car cover on that night? In other words, will the car cover have any impact on the "curing" process?

Wise choice to clay first.

Don't worry about it. As long as you're using a quality car cover that doesn't trap moisture, there will be no adverse effects on the overnight curing process, son. :D

stevet,

If it is the same acrylic, but with cleaning agent, won't it need the same amount of cure time as the SG to get maximum benefit?

Gonzo,

You can't layer AIO. People apply two coats of AIO to ensure complete coverage and extra cleaning if the car needs it. The cleaners in AIO will just remove the layer below it. SG has no cleaners and can be layered if you let each layer cure for 24 hours.

I know about the non-layerability - from my first post: "I say twice, to make sure you get complete coverage."

That's the way it was recommended by CMA.

I would think that it would be similar whether by hand or by PC: Damp applicator, and a small 'dollop' of AIO. After doing a panel or two, you'll find the correct amount. Once you start, you'll realize that it's pretty hard to screw it up. I found AIO to be very easy and forgiving. (SG was the same way for me - using the BillNorth method, but I've read some horror stories here as well)

PS: Let us know how it comes out on Monday!

A little bit goes along way according to CMA and i tend to agree. However shake well before applying either.
