any absorber fans on here?

im not happy with how i dry my car right now..i get marring , and it seems a real chore



so i figured id give the absorber a try...i struggled with it to be fair, it seemed to grip to the car to much :( i figured i would be able to hold 2 corners and glide it over the panel ,but like i said it kinda want to grip and doesnt slide easy



how do i get best results from the absorber?
 
Try to dab the absorber instead of drag it. Persoanlly I use The Absorber all of the time on cars I will be polishing next. On cars I am just washing I use a waffle weave drying towel. Have you tried that route yet?
 
well yeah , ive been trying out the megs water magnet and i recently wiped a freshly washed one over a new cd and it marked it!



im just looking for easiest non marring way to dry my car
 
I currently use the Absorber, but you're right about it sticking and dragging onto the surface too much. Dabbing is probably the best way to go. Just slap on the Absorber, let it do its job and take it off. There might be some more hints on water on the surface, but it won't create water spots.



As for marring, maybe your washing process is causing the marring? What kind of mitt are you using?
 
I used to use the Absorber before I found WW drying towels. Now I hate the Absorber with a passion. It always seemed to leave water trails and streaks behind. I also noticed marring on my soft Mazda paint, so I tossed it out and never looked back. WWMF is the best drying implement I have found.
 
I've been using the same absorber for 10 years. Yes, it does drag a little- but it dries better than my waffle weave. The problem I have with the WW is the satin trim around the edge. When it gets wet, it drags water all over the place.



My most recent solution has been to go over the car with the absorber, then finish with the WW- I just throw one over my shoulder & use the other. Seems to be a good compromise.



But, to each his own...
 
Just make sure you're using the free flowing water nozzle method to get most of the water off the car first. That will make the job easier. Also, some use the California Water Blade together with the Absorber, which is absolutely great as long as you don't have particles being scratched into the dirt when using the blade.
 
I left my absorbers for waffle weaves. The WW are much kinder and actually hold more water, though a bit harder to wring out.
 
I use the absorber quiet a bit for my canvas top. But I keep away from the paint.

for drying to reduce marring I use the flood method by removing the nozzle.

and then dabbing the remaing spots of water with a waffle weave.



Lately I said goodbye to the nozzle and hose altogether and use No Rinse.

I now spray the whole car before drying with a quick detailer like FK 146 or FK 425

Usually both in that order.
 
I used to use the Absorber and a similar one called HydraWipe on my previous cars. Way, way better than the natural chamois IMO. But since I got my new car and started using the WW drying towels, I haven't used the Absober since. I just feel that any grime left on the paint after washing (my fault for not being thorough I guess) would marr the paint. I still have them though and have thought about using them to dry the wheels and tires instead of using old WW drying towels for that.



I still feel that it's an excellent product. Just that I know when I wash I end up leaving some areas a LITTLE dirty and don't want it marring the paint.
 
If you must use The Absorber use it to dab the big water drops and finish with a quality WW...a real car care product.
 
I also gave up using my Absorber after I got some quality WW Microfibers. Much more absorbant and gentle.
