Another Zaino Question...

Zaino's web site says that a layer of ZFX or Z1 on the paint first will "Enhance" the shine of a top application of Z2 or Z5. For those of us that just want a good shine and UV protection is the ZFX or Z1 absolutely necessary? Side by side on the same panel could one really tell the difference if one just used Z2 or Z5 alone?...Thanks...Michael

I've heard but can't confirm that Z2 or Z5 absent the initial Z1 or ZFX would look similar, but lack the durability that is the reason many people use Zaino. If you put ZFX in the Z2 or Z5, the application process is exactly the same. Personally, I see no compelling reason to skip that step. :wavey

I noticed that if you apply Z2 or Z5 without using ZFX or Z1, the product streaks & smears badly. It won't cure & flash off, and you'll use a lot of QD to remove the residue.

Experimentation with Zaino has not been kind to me and many many others. Use it exactly as they tell you to or you'll have a very difficult product to work with.

IMNSHO, Z2 & Z5 are all but unusable without ZFX. I would not waste my time with Zaino if ZFX was not available.

just for further clarification - after the initial Z1 or ZFX +Z2 or Z5 application, there is no need to use Z1 or ZFX for every coat. I often will put just one coat of plain Z2 on after washing. Also - Zaino recommends reusing Z1 or ZFX every 6 months or 10 coats.:wavey
