Another Zaino question re: Swirls

I've been using Zaino for several months and have a number of Z2 layers. I do have some swirls which obviously Z2 doesn't address. Are those using Z5 pro w/ a PC satisfied with swrirl removal and if so can I apply it right over the multiple Z2 layers; OR should I allow the Z2 to wear off (or strip) and start over with a more abrasive polish for swirl removal such as Menzerna. Thanks

I would strip off the Z2 that is on your finish right now first. Then follow up with an abrasive polish via PC to remove your swirls. I would try either Optimum polish, Menzerna IP/FPII, or even Zaino ZPC. If you are happy with the finish after polishing, I would go back to Z2 pro. In my opinion, Z5 pro "helps" hide some MINOR surface imperfections, but it doesn't even come close to real polishing. Maybe try a layer or two of Z5 followed by Z2......

I would recommend first a test panel with Z5PRO x 3. If the surface marring is corrected (filled and hidden) on this test section just finish the remainder of the vehicle with Z5PRO and later top with Z2PRO x 1-2.

If the test section (panel) is not corrected (filled and hidden) by Z5PRO applications, the next step is polishing out the marring as best as possible. Follow with Z5PRO x 3 and top with Z2PRO x 1 or 2. No need to strip the present layers of Z2PRO if polishing. Polishing will remove Z2PRO during the surface marring elimination step.

Hope this helps. :wavey

Application by hand or by PC of Z5 is not going to make any difference, since there is no abrasive in Z5.

If you are going to polish, there is no need to strip off the Z2 because the abrasive in the polish will do that for you.

I have a 5 year old black Lexus, and it had some light scratches and swirl marks. I bought a PC and went over the whole thing with Zaino PC Fusion. This did not take long, even though I am new at using a PC. That removed all the swirl marks and left me with no finish. I then applied 8 or 9 coats of Z2 and the car looks like new. Even better than new.
