Another PC Question.....Sorry

The PC is on sale at Canadaian Tire here in Canada.

The flyer came out this morning but it did not list the model number - I am pretty sure it is the 7424 though.

So regarding the counter weight, if I get this unit rather than the 7336, how imperative is it that I get the counter weight for the 6" pad?

Would I damage anything if I just used the existing weight?

The reason I ask is I don't know if I can track down the 6" pad counter weight here in Canada.

Thanks:nixweiss

It'll work OK but vibrate worse than it should. Don't worry about it for the occassional use but order a 6" counterweight from somewhere stateside when you can, just to get your hands on one.

I would get the 6'' counterweight ASAP. I believe Brad B. mentioned extended use of the wrong counterweight can damage the ball bearing in the machine.

I just picked up a DeWalt rotary on Tuesday along with some Meguiars 6 1/2" velcro backed pads. I love it.

I brought some heavily swirled black paint back to life on the X girlfriend's Sunfire.

The DeWalt unit is super heavy duty and should outlast me. LOL.

p.s. Oh yeah...The DeWalt is American made for all you patriotic guys and gals. That still means something to me.

The DeWalt sounds great, except that it is a rotary . The PC is a random orbital. Different tools, different job.

Deemo, the CT guys are pretty useless. A friend of mine tried to get one and they couldn't find it. We had to quote them this product number:

Wheels,

The staff at CT is brutal. After one guy telling me they had 2 in stock on the computer, I told him to physically find it for me before I drive there and possibly get p.o.'d. Sure enough it was nowhere to be found.

I got it on the second try at another store last night and now am looking for a backing plate and pads.

Costal Tool has the backing plates and all that. They are in CT and that's not too far from Canada. They might ship up there. You have a greater chance of getting a north east city to ship to Canada than a south Florida city or California city. Ya know?
