Another hit and run.....

Tex Star Detail

Formerly TexasTB
Took the family to Baskin Robins this evening to get some ice cream. Backed into a spot, nothing behind me, nothing beside me on either side. Of course we had to sit where we couldn't see outside. I am usually very strange at looking at and checking my surroundings and noticing things, such as what people are wearing, what they drive, where the doors are, what to do if something happens.... ya, I know, weird. Always do that, even while driving.... Try to make a plan for everything...

Anyways..... I didn't do it tonight. Came out to see a puddle in front of the car, figured the AC condensation was heavy...lol My Fiance said, WHAT HAPPENED TO MY CAR, and then I knew it was a hit and run in the parking lot. Jerks backed into the car and took off. No cameras and no one seen anything. Of course, right?
The HAD to be driving a truck or SUV with a hitch as there was a puncture in the front bumper cover. Got it right on the corner and punctured the washer fluid tank behind the bumper cover. And of course, there is nothing behind these damn plastic bumper covers on the corner, so it just pushes right on in until it hits something solid.... Like, lets say, the damn headlight , hood, and fender..... :screaming:

Here you go..... pics to satisfy your hunger.....

I swear this car is the red headed ba$tard car that always gets beat on. This is the 3rd hit and run....
Coulda swore they were going to total is when the drunk hit us from behind, pushed us into oncoming traffic, and then down into a ditch. But they cut the whole back half of the car apart and replaced it. Never was quite the same. This car is like a damn timex watch......
Filed a police report and contacted the insurance, bringing it in tomorrow...... Only have to pay half of the deductable, thank goodness....
Looks like a new hood, fender, headlight, bumper cover, and washer tank are to be replaced.......

Whadda ya do?

Sorry, Tex. Guess it coulda been worse. Have you thought about springing for the second headlight lens? I wouldn't mind replacing both of mine.

There's not a thing wrong with that. If more people would have the awareness to do those sort of things they'd be much less easier a target of someone with bad intentions.

Sorry about the car. :(

:bigups

Doesn't everyone? Had an instructor that stressed the importance of being aware of your surroundings. Once a session I was entertained by his demonstration of a woman exiting a shopping mall.

Sorry about the car. Maybe it has one of those "Kick me" signs on it.

People today just don't have any respect for other peoples property. It is a shame. I am aware of all my surroundings and see dented cars everywhere I go and just figure that the same thing has happened to them. It's too bad that to have a nice car and keep it that way it seems that it must stay in the garage and never be driven. Sorry about the car, I know how it feels.
