Another Harley

Beemerboy

Just One More Coat
Seems like I'm starting to get a good reputation for detailing motorcycles. There is a large amount of them here in NO CAL, that like their bikes clean!

This one is being picked up this evening, I haven't put the leather saddle bags back on just yet so that I can show him the work that was done on the rear rim.

This is one really nice machine

Looks awesome! hope they appreciate the work you put into it and keep coming back to keep it looking that way.

Thanks!

I should tell you what I did

S&W and APC for cleaning
Pro-Polish for all surfaces
Black hole for the painted surfaces
PB Wheel sealant on all chrome surfaces
PB EX-P on painted surfaces
PB Nattys red on paint
Leatherique on all leather

I just called the local HD dealer to see what they charge, they do not have a wash bay, so cannot do details on site, HELLO S&W!!!:D:D:D

They gave me the name of an outside detailer they use. I talked to him, and asked some general questions...He said that he doesn't polish the metals as polish would scratch the metal, he uses a wax:huh::huh::huh:

I guess to someone that has no idea about detailing chemicals that would see reasonable, but really:rofl:rofl

He also has all his own products, in checking his My Space page and one other he dose good work from the pics that I seen posted, I just can't get passed the no polish part.

Anyway he was a good sounding board for pricing:gotcha:

Guy picked it up this afternoon and I was able to get some sun pics that I will post tomorrow, this one was a blast to work on!!!

Looks great... How long did it take you? I am thinking to polish all of that chrome must have been time consuming.

Stephan, not as long as you would think, PB PP makes short order of the work. I have started to develop the process of detailing these bikes, like a car that's half the battle.

I spent 4 hours on this bike, split into three days

Now if this chrome was in bad shape yes these can take a considerable amount of time

As promised here are the outside pics of the bike...he took the bike into the street to turn around and hit some dirt, that's what you are seeing on the front tire...damit!:D:D

My God dirt on the tire...:D You're supposed to tell them they can't drive it once its been detailed, rather just simply look at it.

Dave, did you use a machine for any of the polishing and if so which machines, or did you do it all by hand? Looks great by the way. Very nice bike!!:bigups

Dave this was all done by hand, I really don't see how anyone can use a machine on a bike, there are so many angles. Hardly a flat area on the bike, unless you have a 3 inch or so pad size on a rotary. Even with that the amount of surface area that you would cover is very limited.

I haven't done a bike yet that I have not been able to get great results by hand using the right chemicals and applicators

very nice work. i think i can wash, polish and seal my f150 in less time than it takes me to detail my harley. i do have a griots 3" da that i use on it with the constant battle to keep the vivid black paint presentable.

Im not really sure how I missed this when it was new, but nice work. Ive not done a Harley or a cruiser in general since buying my Griots 3in, but its a God-send when working on my crotch rocket. I can see it being a useful tool for big cruisers too.

I think a 3" would work well for the tank and maybe if you used it to polish some of the chrome but I think a lot would still need to be done by hand
