Another Happy Zaino User

So I finally got a chance to try Zaino on my black Alfa 164. So far, I've only used the Z5, so no pictures yet, but I will get some soon.

Here's what I did:

1) Wash with dawn.

2) Clay with Mothers Clay bar- This made a noticable difference to me in the paint. After I finished claying, I thought the paint looked pretty damn good.

3) Dawn wash again- Mostly I did this because the Mothers clay bar used Mothers QD as a lubricant, so I wanted to get everything off of my paint before Zaino.

4) Zaino Z1 followed by Z5 (note: I did not try to polish out any swirls, since I have only minor swirls that I thought Z5 would take care of). Both went on very easily. I used both on all parts of the car, including lights (lenses), wheels, glass. I used a terry wax applicator pad for the Z1, and a foam pad for the Z5. I do feel like I put it on a little thick, but I suppose more practice will be necessary.

5) Wait about 2.5 hours. To ensure that my thick coats would be dry.

6) Buff off with cotton towels. The Zaino buffed off pretty easily, even on the spots where it went on thickly.

7) Admired my work. It looks great. Swirls? I ain't got no stinking swirls! Well, OK, maybe a few, but not very noticable at all. I may try another coat of Z5, but am tempted to go with Z2 first, then try Z5 again at a later time. It looks really good.

I have yet to try Z6 and Z7. Although I do plan to Z6 tonight before putting on another coat of Z2.

on the successful and fruitful detailing venture with Zaino. I am another satisifed Zaino user, only having used Z for the last 3 months. Another 2-3 layers of Z5 should minimize the swirls even more. People say that you should end with Z2 because it has greater optical clarity than Z5, which is true. I have a black car and a silver car and I think that Z5 tends to look obetter on the lighter colors while Z2 on darker colors, like black, make it look absolutely amazing. And use Z6 in between coats of Z2 or Z5, increases the bonding between coats.

Post pics when you can.

I put some on yesterday evening and it was easy in the dark. Looked good under the moonlight.

More coats to come for sure. I figure 7 before I am finished. Then maybe twice a year unless I am bored.
