Was hoping someone could help me with some info on getting a 'business' started. I have a full-time job already, so I'd only be doing 2-3 auto's per week. Just wondered if there are any, you know, IRS hangups I could get caught in, or if I'd have to get a permit/liscence from the city to do that sort of work at my house. People I know have all kinds of 'under the table' jobs, and I'd like to get involved with my own if it's possible. Please advise.

aaron,

No matter what you do you will have hangups with the IRS.

The one thing you really should look at is your occupational license. This is the minimum for a buisness and you can find all that information through your state website. Doing a business such as this at your home, may not be allowed. Because of zoning laws. I can have my office located at home but no work can be done there. Certain types of business are allowed, others are not. Check with your local laws. Usually a phone call to your local city hall will answer those questions and more for you.

Good luck.
