Another Ferrari 599 Fiorano + California Dreamin' up next...

OK this wasn't a huge correction job, but I thought I'd post it anyway because I know how we all love car porn :). This 599 GTB is on the showroom floor so it was especially important to have it in, well showroom condition. I did a walk around to see what needed to be corrected and actually found some damage and swirls that I didn't see before. It had some serious holograms on it almost everywhere and RIDS in a few places. It was a bit difficult to see the damage because I had to fight with the bright showroom lights, but my LED lamp picked up everything. Almost all of the correction was done with a blue Riwax cutting pad and InstaFinish #15 and the deep scratches were polished out with a Scholl 4" wool pad and Scholl S02. This stuff is awesome because it doesn't leave much marring when finished down, even when using a wool pad. Here's the pics, enjoy!

Before any of you have a heart attack, I'll tell you that yes, the ring and watch were removed before I started :).

fiorano_3_3.jpg

If you look just to the right of my hand, you can see the holograms with the showroom lighting only.

Hmm, what be this?? Some more bristles from an automatic car wash that got caught under the Ferrari emblem again?

fiorano_3_8.jpg

Looks just like the bristles in the emblem on the Scuderia I did a couple weeks ago (in the pic below)... When I showed the owner that, he immediately called the factory and from what I understood in Italian, he told them that there's a professional detailer here correcting the cars and he said that these cars have been through an automatic car wash, etc. Of course the factory denied it, but 2 of the cars I've done for them have the same red bristles in the same spot? Not coincidence.

Holograms on the door...

fiorano_3_9.jpg

Holograms on the hood... like big ones.

fiorano_3_10.jpg

All taped up.

fiorano_3_11.jpg

This was a huge scratch on the bumper. It looked like someone propped the spare tire there with their knee while they were opening the trunk to put it in.

fiorano_3_12.jpg

After a few passes with InstaCut #0. The InstaCut left too much marring so I switches to Scholl 02 and a 4" wool pad.

fiorano_3_13.jpg

Still healthy readings after the cutting was done. The scratch came out 100%.

fiorano_3_14.jpg

I did a quick spot correction on the driver's door on this one, but being that it's white I didn't bother trying to pick it up on camera... just thought I'd throw in some more eye candy for you guys :).

fiorano_3_16.jpg

Somebody scraped the pillar in the showroom with this one. It was pretty deep and the paint was already gone, but I managed to make it look good by removing the residue and smoothing out the cut.

fiorano_3_15.jpg

After

fiorano_3_17.jpg

Hood all finished

fiorano_3_18.jpg

Hood from another angle

fiorano_3_19.jpg

fiorano_3_20.jpg

Scratches removed from around the door handle

fiorano_3_21.jpg

fiorano_3_22.jpg

I achieved about 90% correction on the bumper. Basically it can only be seen with a very scrutinizing eye from close up now.

COMING SOON TO A FORUM NEAR YOU...

California Dreamin'

I've got this beauty for a full week (I'm sure it won't take that long, but I have a week with her anyway) starting from Monday. It needs to be prepared for a car show and owner told me, "Do what every you need to do to it to make it perfect inside and out." It, like the other F cars that I've done so far, has a lot of RIDS, swirls, holograms and other surprises. There's also some strange marks that are getting on the leather inside from the way the roof opens and the owner asked me to figure out what's causing it. It should be a fun detail :).

Thanks for reading and C&C always welcomed!

Nice Azzuro California color on the new California just like the press car. Love the shot of the rear decklid on the 599 with an automatic car wash brush stuck in it, only people with stupid cash will do something that dumb " I am late for a meeting" so they take their 300,000.00 thousand dollar car thru a car wash.

Yeah, I like that color too :). Actually, the 2 pics of car wash brushes stuck in 2 different cars are from the factory... I thought they had a car wash on the test track site, but the owner of the dealership said they didn't. He said it's probably from someone taking it for a spin and giving it a quick wash to hide the evidence... well they actually left some :).

Excellent work Jesse!

I like these cars even more after watching that Ultimate Factories show! :cooleek:

We own a Laserwash touch free car wash, they are very handy to use with washing cars without actually touching the finish, I hate automatic brushes people go mud slinging in them and dirt gets trapped in the brushes and scratches your car's finish. Your a very lucky guy to be cleaning up Ferrari's haha! Keep up the good work! Looks very good!

jesse some more nice work there! lol for a while i have been thinking about that big light you got there does it flash like a disco ball? lol great job man!! are you getting spoiled yet? can you remember that last time you did a car under 100,000? lol great job jesse!! keep it up!!

Great work and excellent job calling out those bristles caught in the horses mouth, you sure the prancing pony didn't just get hungry and eat some bad hey?? :lol

I'm impressed that you spotted that on both cars and pointed it out to Ferrari, someone needed too. You are a detailer making a difference.

Keep up the good work.

Thank you kindly, sir! I just watched it on YouTube... cool! Now I know who the culprits are... the ones who don't put the body parts flush on the car you know :)

How does this laser wash clean? I mean, does it leave dirt and does it use chemicals harsh enough to strip wax?

Thanks Josh! I sent the 2 pictures to the owner of the dealership yesterday per his request... I'm sure he's already forwarded them to Maranello. What a shame that they run those things through the grinder though... no respect, no respect I tell ya!

Unbelievable work Jesse!!

It must be great to be around all those beautiful cars. The only tough part is when have to go home in your "normal car" ha,ha.... Maybe some day I'll be able to afford one!

Top notch work and great attention to detail!! Can't wait to see the next one...

Thanks Rick! Yeah, it's great working there, but when I leave and get into my Italian non-sports car (Fiat)... well, I think you understand :).
