I'm 25 and live in Middletown, DE. I'm a network engineer for CSC. When I'm not at work I'm normally outdoors hunting/fishing/crabbing/camping, etc. My trucks paint takes a beating and I figure it's about time I properly protect it. I have gone through life thinking that a wax a year was plenty. I know, I know, but I'm about to convert! I have a 1995 GMC Sierra standard cab white shortbed showtruck that I've always taken good care of, or at least I thought. That is now my garage queen and my daily driver is a 2002 Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab Shortbed that is Forrest Green. The wifey also just recently got a 2004 Tahoe Z71 in the same Forrest Green color. Well before it got really cold I decided to wax my 2002 truck since I neglected it and it never had been waxed since I bought it in January 02. I read up a bit on my truck board and found that wash, clay, SMR, and wax would be decent. I went ahead and bought the stuff and got up early on a Sunday to do this all by hand. Well, I quit at dark with almost all of the waxing done. This is when I vowed to purchase a "buffer" before my next wax job. I finished up the next night after work in the garage and the results were pretty good, but nothing compared to the pics I've seen on here. For about a week I thought my right arm was gonna fall off. Now I'm convinced after reading on this board that I can get some amazing results by taking the advice on here. In addition, my wife's tahoe needs a detail and it's just great that the colors are the same. I have a $25 rebate card coming in the mail soon to Lowes so I plan to go out and buy the PC 7336 as soon as it hits the mailbox. I've also narrowed down my products to Poorboys, because it appears you can't go wrong there. I still have to pick out some pads, but there's tons of info on here about them. I figure I'll get the PC first and then order that stuff. I just can't wait until the weather warms up to get started. I'm now hooked already and haven't even got the PC yet. I already find myself looking at cars and thinking how much they could improve. Before I couldn't even see the small imperfections and swirl marks, but after seeing some of the before/after pics, I can pick them out a mile away. Hopefully soon I'll impress you guys with some before/after pics.
