And the Viper is complete!

Now that was a fun job. :D I thought it was just a Viper, but apparantly it is a lot more than that. Check out the pictures in this album and look at the plaque by the shifter. Its pretty cool. Motor Trend said it was the fastest production car they had ever driven. I guess its in a couple different magazines.

The real tragedy with this car is that the yellows don't all match. The hood is carbon fiber and was painted. The vent things on the hood were painted a couple years later. The front lip was painted after that. And the doors were repainted for some reason or other. Anyway, I have learned that yellow is a lot like white and must be a very difficult color to match properly. You could tell that they were all different colors. He was impressed that I could point out the different pieces that were painted seperately. I thought it was kinda obvious, but I guess nobody else has mentioned it to him.

The car was basically already pretty clean. It is garaged most of the time for obvious reasons. This is a true blue roadster. No exterior door handles or windows in the door. So if you take it out for a spin then you better be sure its not going to rain because the top is in your garage. :lol With only 12,000 miles on the odometer it has obviously spent a lot of time in the garage. It was in really bad need of claying though. Man... talk about little brown dots all over the place... It was pretty bad. I guess taking it to a track now and then will do that to you.

I don't know what detailer did this car last, but it was awful!! There was overspray all over the car from whatever greasy dressing he was using on the tires and interior. It was nasty. The tires were awful looking. I don't know what they used, but it left this greasy white film all over the tires. Nasty stuff. That and the need for clay were really the two worst problems. I did DACP just to clear up the swirls and scratches that were on the paint, but they really weren't bad at all. Everything came out and that surface is perfect now. :bigups

After DACP I hit it with the Wolfgang twins and finished off the interior and wheels/tires. It really looked a lot better. I am always impressed with Wolfgang no matter what color I put it on. I've had it on blue, yellow, silver, and beige now. So far I can say that I like it on metallic colors the best. It did look awesome on the Viper.

I am soooooo sorry for the pictures in that album. I know they are all in the shade or garage. Its not my fault. The light in the garage was soooo much better and it was overcast outside. Actually, it was snowing part of the time while I was detailing it. Stupid weather.... I took the best pictures I could just so I had something to work with if I ever put together an online portfolio or wanted to use the picture on a brochure or business card. I know they aren't very fair pictures, but that is how it looked when I was done. It may be cheating, but you get the idea. I can't wait to see the car again in the sun so I can take some more pictures.

Oh, by the way... that first picture of the mountains you can see where the house was. Its right under those clouds in the middle where it is snowing. I'm not joking. When I saw that I'm like...awwww, CRAP!! lol It was about a 40 degree detail but some things are worth it. It was quite the car and this is a good customer to keep happy. His M3 is next and then I'll get to come back and finish up the Viper properly. Its definitely not in car show condition just yet, but it is 80% done. He wasn't paying me to spend all day there so I just did as much as I could. He won't be ashamed to drive it around once the weather clears up. :bigups

great job, i love that spoiler on the viper. ive always been a believe that the spoiler just adds so much MORE to a car. out of curiosity, is that spoiler stock? anyway, sweet job . i would personally have kept the carbon fiber hood black, just because a black carbon fiber hood shows that you have a carbon fiber hood. of course, it could mean the car would have a "ricer" look. anyway, sweet job. 40 degrees outside huh, whew that must be really cold. the coldest ive done detailing in was 72 degrees, and my fingers were about to fall off after i washed the car.... SWEET JOB. what did it feel like to start the engine of a viper?

eeeh - my twin turbo yugo is faster :lol - schweeet - so it's the viper venom?? not just a viper?

Yup. Its the second one Hennessey put the 600 package on. I didn't know that till I got inside and started working on the interior. I saw that little badge there and my jaw dropped. Not only was it the car of my dreams, but it was also one that has been featured in magazines and is probably worth waaaay more than he paid for it. This guy's family is very well off. His wife's dad invented the air bag. I'm sure the patent on that thing is worth bazillions of dollars since cars can't be manufactured without them now days. His family runs MOMO from what I hear. He's definitely not lacking in the family fundage. My manager is the one who referred me to him. Right after I finished up the Viper she came over to pick up a TV that he was giving her. He just got the biggest HD TV that I have ever seen and he was giving her the second biggest TV that I have ever seen. lol

I went the extra mile on this car because I figure that a guy like this has to have friends with similar cars. He used to sell Lamborghinis so I'm sure he knows a few guys with exotics. If I make him happy then it could mean referals for me. I even washed his Expedition that I did on Monday again for free because it has been raining some seriously dirty rain for the last couple days. He is higher in the hills so he got a bit of snow even. I really hope I get referals...... :drool

I'm in the god forsaken wasteland of Utah. I've seen it snow on Mother's Day before. Its not my kind of climate at all. I dream of warmer days in the future sitting on the beach after work enjoying the absense of snow....

The really funny thing is that it was like 75 degrees on Tuesday and then 45 degrees on Wednesday and then it snows yesterday. It will be 80 tomorrow according to some crack addict who works at the weather station. Grrrr..... I really hate this weather. Its more up and down than it was in Dallas.

heh - you should move here to North Carolina - spring time is a month long barrage of yellow pollen that coats your car - a amateur detailer's nightmare - spend hours getting the perfect shine - drive to target - car is yellow - ugh.. ;)

But hey the beach is an hour away the mountains are two hours away and most residents have all their teeth :lol

You had access to this car and are in the same state but didn't stop by? You didn't do a quality test drive now did you?

Great job!

This dude was closer to you than he was to me. He was just up in Draper around 1300 east. And yeah, I test drove it... about 3 feet out of the garage. lol This car is like 3 of my car. I don't really trust myself with that kind of power. The thing scared me just polishing it. lol

Man you should have let me known. I could have just stopped by and drove it to your house. I'm sure he would have had no problem with that. :)

LOL I'll think of you if I get to do the M3. You can just zip it on out to me on the other side of the valley. I'll only charge you a small fee for the honor of driving it to me. The charge goes down if you want to detail it for me while you are at my house. :naughty lol

You are a God anthony. My Occipital lobe is just BEGGING for some direct stimulation!!!!!! Must....see......Viper.....:drool
