And now for some appearance mods...

Ok, so my car is pretty quick now (quick enough for me, 13.4@103 - 13.2@104.9 corrected)

Now I want do start doing some appearance mods. I already have light silver reflective "CAMARO" inlays on the rear of the car, and my 17x9 SS 10-spoke wheels are waiting to go on this week.

I'm definitely going to get some clear corners because they're only like 20 bucks and look clean. I like the exhaust tips I have now, so no need to change those. I don't want ground effects, but I'm going to put in some DMS lowering springs in the future (1.3" drop).

I don't want to do anything ricey, just a little something here and there. In the future, I MIGHT get a new hood and have the rest of the whole front end repainted while I'm at it.

Let me know your opinions and feel free to make suggestions! You can see my car at the link in my sig.

I think youre on the right track with what you have planned, The styling/design of those cars is quite clever and if you do the wrong thing it really spoils the lines so yeah Wheels and a drop, clear side repeaters are good!

I cant tell if you have tints or not but I think they'd definitely suit your car! :)

GOOD!

Nothing would wreck your sweet ride more than cheesey body mods.

Keeping it a "sleeper" is half the fun! ;)

I'd just invest in a really sick, mean looking set of wheels.

I can't stand those cheesey imports that just look (and sound)tacky.

I'm sure you get the satisfaction of eating rice for breakfast lunch and dinner.

American Muscle!

Personally I like vehicle appearances as stock as possible. Lower springs are a must with Z28/SS because the stock set-up looks like a 4x4.

Negative on the clears - definitely a rice move. Also check for their legality in your area.

I have headlight covers that I use periodically (see pix)

A billet grille is nice if you can run without a front plate. (see pix)

Negative on the hood. They look nice but they make your Z28 look like a SS wanta-be. I have a custom under-chassis ram air set-up (the only xternal clue is the sound of the induction).

All my Chevy classics and my garage queen 95 black Z28 convertible are stock appearing which creates the sleeper, as sleeper as Muscle Cars get, appearance.

I did modify the exhaust system culminating in a different quad tip set-up. All other mods (performance) are undetectable. :)

blkz28Conv gives some very good advice. Here's a photo with billet grille. I also had a GMMG chambered exhaust system installed....Stainless tips were extra. This is the same system thats on the 'Intimidator' It sounds pretty cool. I'm in the process of lowering the car and upgrading the suspension. But only an expert will touch it.

If I get a hood, it's not going to be an SS. Did you ever see Mark Gonzales' car (aka Gonzo)? He has an RK Sport bigblock hood and it is my favorite....here's a pic. The hood is $595.

And where did you get the billet grille? It looks great...

I have a Hooker cat-back now, and I'm happy with it, so I won't ever be getting rid of that.....GMMG is an awesome exhaust system though. The chambered pipes have a one of a kind tone....I don't have to worry about anyone touching my car since I do all my own work.

Looks like you are going to do ok with mods, My $02... Save your cash now for wheels and tires. This alone can and prob will set you back $2-3K I would pass on clear anything.. At this point wheels are the number one thing you could do to make a BIG difference in the overall look of the car! Good luck!!!

Not sure if you guys may have missed it, but I have a set of SS 10-spokes in the garage waiting to go on....2 more tires will be here thursday.

I do like the big block hood. Very aggressive looking.

Thanks,

Let me go home today a find my receipt. I have had this billet grille for at least 4 years and can't quite remember where my supplier had it shipped from. If I can't find the paperwork I'll give him a call. :wavey

Alright, thanks!

Matt,

I spoke to my detail accessory shop. The billet grille is made by Stull. I have the polished aluminum. The piece sells from about $100 now.

Look did a search on Stull and found that Afterthought sells them.

Sorry it took so long to get back this info for you. :o

Good to see some f-car folks on this site!!

Well...its not a Camaro...but I tried to keep her as "subtle" as a WS6 can be!!

Very nice, love the wheels. What kind are they? Also, how do you blur out the background like that in photoshop?

Thanks

Matt
