An after polish question...maintenance

Got a quick question that I couldn't seem to find during any of my searches...... leaning to the fact it may be a "duh" questions but hey...still a newbie. I completed my 2nd detail a few weeks ago...went great. My procedure was 2 polishes (merzerna), followed by 2 coats of RMG, and topped with 2 coats of souveran. (car was black and it look amazing).

My question is I would like to add another coat of RMG and top off with a different type of wax (just got Pete's 53, CG 50/50, lusso)...do I need to do anything after a wash to prep the surface or just go for it.

Thanks,

Devon

you could go ahead and top off with RMG but thats probably about it. It seems like you got it covered by adding 2 layers of RMG and 2 layers of souveran. Adding anything else probably wouldnt do much to help enhance shine. If you want to start all over use a light polish or a pre wax cleaner and then you add your RMG and lusso oro etc.

Thanks for the response...I really would like to try these new waxes...I do have Lusso Revitalizing Creme.....just wondering if I needed to strip the old before applying the new....not sure if that makes any sense...been a long long day.

You could just top the lusso oro over what you currently have but if you want to see any differences between the waxes I would prep using the revitalizing cream first to strip old wax and then add the lusso oro on top of that. Id probably use a 50/50 ipa mix before applying the lusso oro though after using the cream. Have fun!
