Am I doing it right ?

It is perfectly fine. If your goal with Dawn is to strip the old wax, don't bother. Claying and polishing will do that for you.

what if I'm trying to strip off zaino that I've previously applied? I have 2 coats on my car right now and I was planning on using Dawn to strip it...

Finally received my clay bars and ragtop cleaner. Im so excited to start but still have a few questions. I have Zymol cleaner wax, clay bars, raggtopp protectant and raggtopp cleaner and a box load of stuff for the tires, leather etc. I want to know what glaze or other "paint polish" do you guys recommend I can buy locally. I plan doing as follows

Clean ragtop

Protect it

Wash car

Clay

?

Wax

I left a question mark because I know Im supposed to apply a product there but don't know what to use. Any suggestions would be great.

I wouldn't bother putting something before the Zymol Cleaner wax. The cleaners will do a good job of removing the hiding qualities of the glaze. If you want to go multiple steps make sure the final wax does not have any cleaners.

Can I just wash, clay, wax ? I was told no but I don't want to spend 4 hours especially when Im on a tight time schedule.

Yes you can do just that.

If you have a darker colored car and are concerned about the depth then prep is key and multiple step system rule.

My car is gray, not to dark nor to light, just gray. Thanks for all the helpfull info guys, special thanks to Dennis for answering all my questions:xyxthumbs
