Tractor came. I was pretty happy to see Lowes brought it not in a crate, but also not "used" looking. I didnt want one that sat outside and I didnt want one that sat on the floor. I also didnt want one in a crate, because I didnt feel like disposing of the crate.
It arrived in pretty much new condition - paint was glossy and RED. No real scratches or major defects anywhere. There was hardly any "dirt" on it - so I know it wasnt outside. No rust. I requested one that wasnt outside or on the floor, but was told - "you get what you get" from Lowes. I added gas and some of this Star Tron stuff - and it fired right up.
So far, I just did a waterless wash everywhere with Pinnacle waterless using some Costco towels. This stuff is my favorite waterless wash. It just leaves a super nice glow and does and awesome job. Only WW I would consider trying at this point is Wolfgang. Of course UWW+ is still an old favorite.
After that, I started on the plastics with Mothers "Protectant" I had a sample of:
Didnt care too much for this stuff, was kind of OTC dressing greasy - and seemed like it would be a dirt magnet. Also, bottle doesnt specify if its for interior or exterior - and says nothing about UV protection.
So, I quickly switched to Poor Boys Natural Look for the plastic / tires - and Leather Stuff For the seat. The PBs stuff is just a nicer more versatile product - I think these two will be my go to from now on. The PBs stuff is really first class and really just leaves the perfect finish on plastics.
I havent ordered any detailing liquids in a few years, but my need for more PBs (over other brands I have plenty of), will make me part with some cash in the near future.
One nice thing about the PBs stuff is - it seems to self level when it dries. No streaks or lines. It also seems to actually dry at one point - doesnt remain wet or slick feeling.
I didnt do anything with the paint yet. I think Im going to use Optimum GPS on a polishing pad with a PC; followed by Optimum Spray Wax. Reason being, Optimum claims UV protection (although dunno if I buy into this) - and red is super sensitive to oxidation and UV fading.
I know this thing is going to get trashed - so this is mostly for fun. I dont have a lawn yet - Im waiting for it to grow. So, may as well play.
