Aluminum Rim Question?????

Hey there,



I just bought some aluminum 5 star rims that were once clear-coated....but now some of the clear is on & some is gone.



Can someone tell me how to take the clear coat off entirely & then replace it so that the rims look like they did when they were new?



I bought these rims really cheap...so I would like to be able to make them look new again.



Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This will remove the clear coat and you might then be able to get the wheels re-cleared or polish the aluminum out and just leave them uncleared.

You can get the airplane/car paint stripper at walmart in the automotive section. I used it to get some blue spray paint off of a set of aluminum wheels i bought and it worked fine. It didn't hurt the surface at all and it washes off easily with water. It's in an aerosol can btw.
