Hi gang,
My apologies if this has been covered, I've searched quite extensively, and no thread suggests any type of DIY fix.
In any case, I've got a set of the following rims, and all 4 came with corrosion on the machined lip. The rim itself is aluminum, so I'd assume the lip itself is aluminum as well.
Are there any DIY steps to fixing it? These are my track rims, so I'm not too afraid of salt getting to it, and the end result doesn't need to be 100% either.
Would I be able to sand it down with say, 1500-->2000, and then repolish with OHC-->OP?
Any concerns with the bare aluminum (protected by say, Collinite 845?)
Thanks!
