Aluminum Polishing as a Service?

Beemerboy

Just One More Coat
I just ran an add on Facebook for aluminum polishing. It occurred to me in looking at all the other ad's that no one offered this as a service.

just thought that I would throw that out to anyone who is looking to pickup additional detail work.

Great idea. Aluminum takes a lot more care an attention than other metals, so it really is a specialised service.

Anyone with a R107 series Mercedes should be interested. Those aluminum air cleaners do not age well. ;)

That was my idea about it, and in looking for someone to do this years back in my area there was no one. That's why I took the time to read up about it, buy some pads and polishes to learn.

First off ya dont use "pads" ya use polishing wheels. The job is a dirty process and you need to know what you are doing. I am not sure you will make big coin doing this but it's a good add on to offer.:inspector:

Thanks and I understand what to use. I wasn't going to list all the equipment and chemicals that I have to do this job.:D

plus I plan on taking on only select amount of jobs...polishing out big rig diesel tank will not be one of them.

My target market is auto rims, motorcycle parts and such

Its a add on service that complements the detailing part of my business not a stand alone service, unless its something that I can make decent money at or a winter project:D

I hate the term "polishing wheels" because people misuse it so much. As in "wheeling out paint" -- it's buffing/polishing, not wheeling!

I call metal polishing aparatus like that a "spiral-sewn buff" because technically speaking that's the most specific and accurate term. :surrender

Thanks for the proper terminology i guess I misspoke. I am happy we both got the general idea, that's what counts...:yikes::cheers:
