Alternative to Meguiar's Quick Interior Detailer

Hey guys,

Anything similar to this product that can be purchased in bulk (or in concentrate form). I am looking for something to used on maintenance details, and don't care about long term durability...simply looking for a natural look.

i just did all my interior and exterior VRP w/ CG Silk Shine. Worked great. Dry to the touch and excellent cleaning.

Meguiars #40 can be picked up locally for $25 a gallon, OPP is great and so is FK 108. You know I have all 3 on different parts of my dash, goin on a month now and the only difference is dust, the FK dusts a lot less then the others, OPP has less dusts then #40. The dust and price is the only difference I can tell in all 3 products. #40 did require a final buff with a dry MF after I applied it to get a nice matte look

I think the original poster is looking for a product that is mist or spray on and wipe off wirthout having to thoroughly spread without leaving a residue. So far, the only suggestion I have seen that fits this criteria is Scottwax's recommendation.

Something that I have found similar to Megs Quik Interior Detailer is ONR mixed to QD Strength. It is enough to clean light dust and fingerprints from plastic and wood trim without leaving any hazing or streaking.

yep ONR works well

as does FK-425

When I do basic washes, I wipe down the interior with a microfiber towel I have dipped in the ONR solution and wrung out.

I'm a huge fan of the Meg's Quick Interior Detailer as it's so gentle, it won't rub off the soft touch coating found on my Volkswagens and other euro cars. It leaves no glossy (or any) residue for that matter.

One of the things I like about the Meg's QID is the scent of the stuff, it just smells "clean" to me. Guess that's not a biggie when doing other people's cars though...

I ended up just buying a gallon of Optimum Protectant Plus, as well as a gallon of ONR. I'll use Optimum Protectant Plus for the main protection, and then 1oz of ONR mixed with 15 oz of water in a spray bottle for touch ups.

It is a shame Meguiar's doesn't offer QID in 1 gallon containers for those of us that go through a lot of these type products.

Since I generally don't *want* a scent (even the nice light stuff from the Meg's QID), I've always thought I'd try the 1Z Cockpit Premium some day. It's not quite the zero-application-hassle product that the Meg's QID is though, is it?

lawrencea- Eh, I wish they still made that spray version of Murphy's, we used a lot of it. Not around the vehicles though ;)

i do not consider OPP in the same class as QID. QID seems like a quick cleaner but not really a dressing. OPP has oils and is a dressing in that it definitely changes the gloss and lasts for some time.

I think the OP wanted a very affordable light cleaner with a decent scent. 1z CP is closer but much more expensive in smallest size. (1z is 2x the price)

Actually, I am the OP.

I ended up deciding that ONR, mixed with water is as close as I could come to QID...with PRICE being a major consideration.

I figure I'll use Optimum Protectant Plus for my main protection, and use the ONR/water for touch ups in between the OPP applications.
