Alternative to HD POLISH?

I love HD POLISH..best I've used. But my sample size just ran out and the Australian distributor is out of stock. :( (Sorry Daniel)

I need something that behaves with Nitro Seal. I have several others but concerned the oils will interfere with NS bonding. I know POLISH works and looks amazing too.

How about Optimum Finish? Any other ideas?

(By the way Mods, I'm not receiving any email notifications for over a week so I won't know if I get any responses to this thread. Who do I contact about that? :bawling: )

Alfisit- Between this thread and the other HD Polish one, I'm guessing you have PO85rd in the back of your mind, huh? I no sooner bought the Menzerna when HD Polish came out, and now I'm going through buyer's remorse every time I see it sitting there unused on the shelf. The Menzerna has the whole "oiliness" factor to consider as opposed to the HD...

Yeah, I have 85RD and 106FA, but as you say I don't use them with LSP (NS, OC) that require a bare surface. I'm not convinced IPA removes all the lubricants.

That's not a superfine finishing polish like POLISH is it?

How about Optimum Finish polish?? Not a spray and I've read it doesn't contain heavy oils. Check with Scottwax as he's a regular Optimum user.

I'm with you on the ineffectiveness of IPA. I use TOL/Hi-Temp's PrepWash instead, but I have no idea what'd be available in your locale.

Just use a alkalie detergent after you are done with the prep stage. I foam the car with a high alkalie detergent(diluted 1:25) and then wash it with a fine wool mit and a stronge shampo mixture and this will remove all residues of the polish such as dusts, oils and etc.

Does the prep-wash work? I could find something I'm sure.

Yeah, works much better for me than IPA.

On vehicles with "grabby"/"sticky" paint, the PrepWash removed M205 oils with two or three applications whereas I had no luck with IPA (either diluted for longer dwell-time or straight for more immediate potency). I'm firmly sold on the PrepWash for this type of job (i.e., spray-on...dwell...wipe-off polishing oil removal).

I do tend to rinse a bit (DI water) instead of just wiping it off even though the instructions say the latter is sufficient. I just don't like the idea of anything possibly being left behind. I'll usually wait to do the rinsing until I'm sure I'm all finished with the polishing; any residual stuff seems OK when still doing more polishing.

Agree, both HD Polish and OHP work well with sealants.

But is OHP the equivalent to HD Polish or Opt Finish? Remember, I'm needing it for use on very soft black paints so it has to mimic HD Polish.
