Alright, who is the guy on here behind all this?

So today i saw this range rover (black) with tons of swirls AND tons of holograms.

this made me think and look at all the other black cars.... after looking at all the cars that were over $60k (range rovers, mercs, bimmers etc) pass by westwood while i was getting my haircut, i saw that 4/5ths of the black cars had some major holograms and tons of swirls.

who is the dude on here that is messing up these people's cars? this is ridiculous! :sadpace:

i felt like running up to their cars at a red light and giving them my card (if i had a card :doh )!

i am surprised that people with such nice cars are such price shoppers :sadpace: :sadpace:

car washes use rotaries?

this was almost as bad as that carmax picture posted on here a little while ago

If you need someone to blame, then blame the owners for taking there car to those $20 drive threw washes where they wipe them dry and wipe the interior with the same towels and call it a detail.

Blame the owners.

How do you know that it is someone on here? Do you think that everyone who operates a rotary is a member here?

It was probably just the dealer or some crappy job by a bad detail shop.

It's a tough call. Maybe they don't know about people like us and only know about the hackshops. I think there's an aura around any detail shop for owners like that. "Oh it looks professional, they must know what they're doing"

So how can you blame the owner when they don't know people like us exist?

You are correct; its amazing how ignorant people are with car care considering its usually the 2nd biggest financial investment they have (generally only surpassed by one's house).

But in some ways, I do blame them for being so ignorant. I owned car wax before I owned a car, so I have never really been ignorant with car care. Of course, I was not nearly as good before autopia and other forums as I am now, however, I did not go and use a green scrubby sponge to wash my car ;)

Not everyone has to be an autopian, however, when people take their brand new benz to a hack shop who ruins the wheels with improper use of harsh wheel acids, uses fillers on the paint that wash off and reveal holograms, and "shampoos" the carpet without an extractor (leaving nasty soap residue in the carpets), it should really occur to them that something is wrong.

But then again, I am of the belief that 90%+ of the population are mindless sheep anyway, so I was not surprised to learn how most people are so ignorant when it comes to taking care of a large investment that they use every day.

It also makes it better for us that they are naive about it, because it makes it easier to wow them and keep them as customers. There's a part inside me that feels guilty for exploiting people because of that, but I get over it because when I'm done, I'm happy, and they're happy and we both got what we wanted. :)

I'm in the L.A. area and...Dude! You'd be surprised at the LONG A** lines at the "hand wash" tunnel car washes around the city on any given day, especially on the $4.99 days. The same red mechanic shop rag that they dry your wheels with is the one that meets your SL-500's dash. I dunno... It seems like a.) people are just cheap and b.) people just don't know when it comes to cars.

i think that b.) should read "people don't really know OR care for the most part".:(
