Already a jaded detailer????

So I purchased a car a few months ago and have really been reading up on what to do and what not to do to care for my baby.

Before this I was simply the kind of guy that had the old beater car and the only time it got washed was when it rained or I got gas and decided to pitch in a few dollars for a autowash.

However, now that I'm so enthusiastic (anal) about the care of my car I find myself going :nixweiss all the time at other cars.

For instance, at work there are 2 brand new Acura TLs that are NEVER washed and i'm sure they haven't been waxed.

I guess what I'm saying is now that I've learned to take care of my car I guess I want to :nono  everytime I see a nice car that is being treated so poorly.

Anybody else in the boat with me on this one?

hah yeah i know exactly what you are talking about, even with family/friends you just want to sit them down and give them the "rundown", although i just end up taking care of their cars. i work with brand new cars every day and its really sad how many..ok, just about all of them, are covered with swirls. and sometimes i even see a bucket in the trunk with an old rag and a bottle of dawn or something along those lines...sigh.. hey your in raleigh also! what car did you purchase?

You are at the right place :D!

I feel this way far too often. My most current obession is picking out how many cars have been beaten with a rotary (holograms) in my apt complex and university parking lot. Its pretty scary how many uneducated "detailers" there are out there.

Yeah no kidding -- I've been truly shocked at how much misinformation people believe or try to argue about.

Happens all the time to me, but it's no biggie. Makes my car look better, right? And when I see other cars I always think about what I'd do and what products to apply.
