All that DUST is killing me!

Hi all!

i used to have a beige interior but i recently got a new car which has a all black leather interior. this weekend, i tried to clean it for the first time (it wasn't really dirty, just a lot of dust and fibers). i first vacumed which went fine and then i used a MF with pure water with some mild soap in it to wipe down all the leather. while this worked as expected, it somehow seemed that the ammount of dust and fibers didn't decrease, it felt like i was just moving it from A to B! :(

so, here is my question: what is a good strategy/method to remove fine dust and fibers from the interior? ...i know, another stupid one...

thanks,

Aloha and welcome to DC !

I would recommend using a conditioner to keep your leather happy. I like 4 Star cleaner and conditioner. Works great and gives off a leather smell.

:yeah
I used the 4* for the first time a week and a half ago. I've got to tell you, it is the best that I've used so far. I was so sick of sliding around my seats after using Gold Class. I could really tell a big difference in the way the leather feels too. I may have to use the 4* on my leather jackets too!

:welcome :dcrules

If all else fails, maybe you could try a swiffer. I keep a refill bag in my truck to wipe down dust. It works for me.

I have a MF duster that seems to work nice for me! :D However, black does need constant maintenance............ inside, and out!

Try a brush attachment for your vacuum. A dry microfiber does a good job of picking up dust. Top of the Line sells a neat little brush that is good for dusting.

I have found that a little bit of QD (I use Final Detail or Poorboys Spray and wipe) misted on a MF and then wipe the dash, seats etc. works well. It seems to help pick stuff up and not just spread it from one place to another.
