No joke, what do you do for the doors to make them armoured? Same kinda treatment?

For the doors, Pilars etc. there are several options. The main objective is to be totaly protected inside the cabin from every angle posible. Usualy the "shell" of the car (everything but doors roof and floor) is armored with ballistic steel which is soldered to the vehicle. The doors, roof and floor are armored with "Spectra Sheild" wich is similar to high grade bullet resistent kevlar but better and much lighter than steel. On the higher levels everything is armored with Ballistic steel. The Bumpers are reinforced with ballistic steel also. When you crash you basicaly are a Tank in sheeps clothing, you destroy the other car. There is also a Pepper spray High presure system that shoots out the sides of the car with a "fogging" effect on some vehicles such as the Explorer. A flame throwing system can also be fitted.

In this picture it might be hard to see, some of the vehicles have no interior and ballistic steel is being welded to the interior.

nice lookin ride u got there...would love to have an armored vehicle one day....just because hehehe u know wot i mean, those things must weigh a good couple tonnes after given the treatment!

was wonderin, approximately, how much does it cost for a level 3 armoured car?

AUTO-DEFENSOL is one of our security accessories. It is engineered to protect you and your family by releasing gas from both sides of your car. The gas immediately disables the attackers who are standing next to the car, allowing you to drive away.

lol, that's crazy. Do you sell many of these?

luke667, PhilStatic...

A standard level 3 Armoring job adds about 300-330 Kilos to the vehicle. We sell many level 5 vehicles and in the last picture one of the explorers is getting a level 5 treatment. We actually sell also Level 7 AntiTerrorism/Antibomb.

The Auto-Defensol system is a high presure spray that is stronger than regular pepper spray. If even a light mist hits your eyes or face there would be severe stinging for several hours and temporary blindness. The system makes a large cloud around the vehicle that can extend in certain situations up to 10 meters away. Yes, we have fitted the system to non-armored vehicles. Each system has to be custom fitted to each vehicle by a trained technician. The majority of the vehicles we armor for private individuals have this system. The following picture is of an "Exit" of the gas. There is one of these on each wheel well.

DOOOOOODE, can i get one of those flamethrowers on my car, that woudl just be really really cool. How cool would it be when your alarm goes off it shoots flames!!! AHAHAH How much do you guys charge if its not too rude to ask? Level 3, level 5 armourings? Just an estimate, kinda curious. Thanks

BlueRanger...

The Flame thrower system can be rigged so if someone pulls on the handle the flames com out. Efectively putting his asaulting or car stealing days over, atleast for a while. IT tipicaly has a control unit inside the vehicle for the driver to control the system. The following is a picture of a BMW fitted with the system.

The prices for a level three job range from 18 to 30 thousand depending on the materials requested and the size of the vehicle. Upwards of a level 3 the prices go over 40 thousand and can be over 100 thousand for high levels like 6-7-8... etc.

If someone here wants a flamethrower system for real, and can not have it installed by us, I can give some instructions on how to build a home made system at your own risk. :D

yep. i saw that when I was in Brazil a few years ago and when I went to Mexico City I also saw this. it's a big business in Mexico since kidnapping is still a bad issue there.

What keeps the gas from being entered into the car by the heater or A/C? The air entrance is at the the cowl area at the bottom of the windshield. Ever shoot a fire extinguisher near the front of a car with the HVAC on? It gets sucked inside, and that's a partial solid that does not float through the air like your pepper spray. Does the HVAC automatically get sent into recirc mode?

Colin,

When the system is activated I belive the AC is automatically turned off to prevent sucction of the gas into the vehicle. Im not exacly sure how the actual mechanics of the system work but they are reliable, safe, and tested.

Thanks for that piece of valuable info. That would make or break the effectiveness of the system.
