First off, I have been so busy trying to get work done that I have really missed out on some great before and after pictures over the years. I started almost 10 years ago and I only have a handful of good before and afters. Anyway, here's my latest that I just finished today. It is owned by BA Rodz and Customz in Calera, AL. He painted it 4 days ago, then DA'ed it with 1000, 1500 then 3000 grit paper. That's the point I came in. I have done show trucks for him before, but this one really took the cake. Its a Lexus brown/gold metallic color code with some extra pearl and metallic added to it. I used Farecla Total compound with a used compounding pad to start, then a new pad, then a Farecla polishing pad still with the compound. After that moved to a Farecla polishing pad with 3M machine polish, then 3M Ultrafina with the 3M Blue finishing pad. To finish I used an orbital with one of Farecla's glazes over the whole truck. The roof just needed overspray removal, a light polish, and then treated with Klasse AIO as it had been painted black a while back when the truck was matte white. All in all about 16 hours of straight buffing and polishing.
The truck to start (the front bumper and hood were still off at this point, but both had been sanded and needed done):
Back half stage one:
Close up of sanded paint:
Close up of stage one:
Stage two outside swirl check:
Stage two under high power lights:
Stage three under high power:
Stage three full truck:
Stage four hood reflection:
Stage five front end:
Stage five whole truck:
Stage five back end:
I'll post stage six from the show tomorrow, hope you like it.
