Air Ionizers ...Do They Work ?

I just got a cigarette plug in Air Ionizer like the one pictured below. Do they work ? I do smell a bit of ozone when it is on and it emits a high pitch "V" sound too. I smoke cigars and thought I would give it a try since its on special at 1/2 price now.

That's funny. I asked the very same question about home ionizers over on the Titantalk.com forum.

If the home unit I bought my wife for Christmas works, I want to buy one for my car. One guy reported that the home units work so well that it can remove the scent of air freshener from the room!

Basically I have seen two type of car ionizers, a regular strength model like the one pictured above and an extra strength model for larger cars like minivans pictured below. Here is a vid that shows the ionzier pulling smoke particles down to the bottom.

Ohhh. My bizzle :)

Corey,

I see you are from Tonawanda. We had a bunch of folks transfer from the GM plant there to the GM plant down here where I live about 25 years ago. The plant now builds the Colorado and will soon build the H3.

BTW, does anyone know what lagniappe means? If they do, I have some for them. :)

P.S. Mardi Gras season is near:up

Oh wow, small world. The Tonawanda plant is fairly large. I know a few people that work there/worked there. :)

Consumer Reports was kinda of down on the Sharper Image De-Ionizers. They felt that the normal HEPA filters cleaned much better. For a car environment though it would be a different story. My car has an air filter for the AC and that seems to work well.

Theyare not great to breath in. When you use a machine you have to air it out for a while before you or your customers can go in.
