AIO + Zaino bonding?

Just searched the forums and no definitive answers,



I've seen a number of people using AIO as a prep for z5 and or z2. This sounds good but is there any problems with zaino bonding to AIO? Less durability?

It's been done by many members here (myself included). Durability is still very good, but I don't think it's optimum.
 
I have used AIO as a base for Zaino in the past and it has worked fine. But, if you are just looking to remove minor swirls, then go with the FP before the Z. AIO is mostly a cleaner, not swirl remover.
 
Zaino now has its own polish for removing swirls called Zaino PC Fusion. I used it on my black Lexus, followed by Z2 Pro, and the results were excellent. Obviously there is no problem with the bonding since the PC Fusion (the only Zaino product which is an abrasive) is designed to be followed by Z2 or Z5.



You might look into using that instead of or after AIO, since you want to apply the Zaino to bare paint.
 
AIO won't do any swirl remover and from what I've seen the Zaino swirl remover has some fillers. Menzerna would be good to use.

Good, glad to hear this. I need to re-Z my hood this weekend and didn't want to try Dawn washing just the hood.



Question: I have 9 coats of Z5Pro/Z2Pro on my hood... A couple rounds of AIO sufficient to remove or should I do a alcohol wipe before hand or what?

Zaino PC does not have any fillers, according to Zaino. This from the Zaino web page description of the product:
